A cabin in Western Wisconsin is transformed from within to become a serene and modern retreat. In a past life, this cabin was a fishing cottage which was part of a resort built in the 1920’s on a small lake not far from the Twin Cities. The cabin has had multiple additions over the years so improving flow to the outdoor space, creating a family friendly kitchen, and relocating a bigger master bedroom on the lake side were priorities. The solution was to bring the kitchen from the back of the cabin up to the front, reduce the size of an overly large bedroom in the back in order to create a more generous front entry way/mudroom adjacent to the kitchen, and add a fireplace in the center of the main floor.

Panoramic windows bring in natural light and views of the Cascades, Mt. Baker, and Mt. Rainier. To maintain those views while adding privacy, we installed custom honeycomb shades with top-down bottom-up functionality.
These shades allow multiple positions: fully open, closed, or top-down/bottom-up for privacy without losing the connection outdoors, making them one of the best window coverings for large windows.
✔ Flexible privacy without blocking the view
✔ Light control throughout the day
✔ Clean, low-profile design
If you're looking for the best blinds for large windows in Seattle, Bellevue, or surrounding areas, this is a practical solution that balances privacy, light, and view.

This 5,200-square foot modern farmhouse is located on Manhattan Beach’s Fourth Street, which leads directly to the ocean. A raw stone facade and custom-built Dutch front-door greets guests, and customized millwork can be found throughout the home. The exposed beams, wooden furnishings, rustic-chic lighting, and soothing palette are inspired by Scandinavian farmhouses and breezy coastal living. The home’s understated elegance privileges comfort and vertical space. To this end, the 5-bed, 7-bath (counting halves) home has a 4-stop elevator and a basement theater with tiered seating and 13-foot ceilings. A third story porch is separated from the upstairs living area by a glass wall that disappears as desired, and its stone fireplace ensures that this panoramic ocean view can be enjoyed year-round.
This house is full of gorgeous materials, including a kitchen backsplash of Calacatta marble, mined from the Apuan mountains of Italy, and countertops of polished porcelain. The curved antique French limestone fireplace in the living room is a true statement piece, and the basement includes a temperature-controlled glass room-within-a-room for an aesthetic but functional take on wine storage. The takeaway? Efficiency and beauty are two sides of the same coin.

Contemporary Cascade Crest:
The home greets you with a grand entrance, boasting a sleek, minimalist design that blends warm wood accents with cool, neutral tones.
