Our unique French sleigh bed has a charming balance of proportion and detail. Entirely hand-forged of sturdy, solid iron bar, it features beautifully detailed scrollwork, elegant feathers as joinery and matching decorative rails. Antique black finish and open footboard.

This is another favorite home redesign project.
Throughout my career, I've worked with some hefty budgets on a number of high-end projects. You can visit Paris Kitchens and Somerset Kitchens, companies that I have worked for previously, to get an idea of what I mean. I could start name dropping here, but I won’t, because that's not what this project is about. This project is about a small budget and a happy homeowner.
This was one of the first projects with a custom interior design at a fraction of a regular budget. I could use the term “value engineering” to describe it, because this particular interior was heavily value engineered.
The result: a sophisticated interior that looks so much more expensive than it is. And one ecstatic homeowner. Mission impossible accomplished.
P.S. Don’t ask me how much it cost, I promised the homeowner that their impressive budget will remain confidential.
In any case, no one would believe me even if I spilled the beans.

Thick slabs of sand-textured granite and quarter-sawn white oak cabinets, equipped with special compartments for things such as cutting boards and plastic container lids, replaced old, sun-exposed cabinetry. A major transformation happened when the the low-height partition, separating the family room and kitchen was knocked down to allow in more light and warmth from the west-facing windows. The placement of the stovetop was adjusted to assist the left-handed couple, and a large 4-foot by 8-foot backing counter was added for the girls.
SZ made 'homes' for everything in the kitchen, from a state-of-the-art Miele integrated coffee station for Cameron to special cabinets for the Dean & Deluca spices that Linda likes to use. To accommodate Linda's petite stature, the countertops were set at a lower height. SZ even designed cereal-box-specific cabinets to ensure that everything would fit just right. Low-voltage strip lighting, operated with dimmers, borders every glass cabinet and spotlights the couple's funky '60s-inspired Jill Rosenwald ceramic serving pieces and a favorite clay sculpture entitled Love Entwined that they bought in Paris.
Today, the kitchen is almost unrecognizable from its former self. A dramatic evolution from stark and imposing to bright and spacious the clean lines and warm tones still give the family-functional space a grown-up edge. "if we're not hosting a charity event or inviting a group of 20 kindergartners over for a party, you'll still find all of us int the kitchen," says Linda. "Except how it feels right. The kitchen has our personalities stamped all over it." Not to mention a few handprints from three little girls.'

Elegant dining fit for a king, with hand-carved beauty from the walls, cornice boards, and mantle, to the table, chairs, consoles, and even the alabaster lamps. The lamps, mirrors, centerpiece, and console accessories were all found on a trip to Paris. The rug is a masterpiece of its own.

Project: Palazzo Margherita Bernalda Restoration
Elements used: Encaustic Tiles, Antique Limestone, antique stone fountain, antique stone fireplace.
Discover the cuisine, wines and history of the Basilicata region at the luxurious Palazzo Margherita. Set in the village of Bernalda, the well-preserved villa is close to the region’s white-sand beaches and the famed Sassi caves. The property was recently renovated by the Coppola family with decorator Jacques Grange, imbuing its luxurious traditional interiors with modern style.
Start each day of your stay with an included breakfast, then head out to read in the courtyard garden, lounge under an umbrella on the terrace by the pool or sip a mimosa at the al-fresco bar. Have dinner at one of the outdoor tables, then finish the evening in the media room. The property also has its own restaurant and bar, which are open to the public but separate from the house.
Traditional architecture, lush gardens and a few modern furnishings give the villa the feel of a grand old estate brought back to life. In the media room, a vaulted ceiling with ornate moldings speaks to the home’s past, while striped wallpaper in neutral tones is a subtly contemporary touch. The eat-in kitchen has a dramatically arched Kronos stone ceiling and a long, welcoming table with bistro-style chairs.
The nine suite-style bedrooms are each decorated with their own scheme and each have en-suite bathrooms, creating private retreats within the palazzo. There are three bedrooms with queen beds on the garden level; all three have garden access and one has a sitting area. Upstairs, there are six bedrooms with king beds, all of which have access to either a Juliet balcony, private balcony or furnished terrace.
From Palazzo Margherita’s location in Bernalda, it’s a 20-minute drive to several white-sand beaches on the Ionian Sea.

One of the best features of The French Chateau, is that it has enough room to be a wonderful space for entertaining. I designed the dining room in particular to be primed for having guests or dinner parties. From a beautiful built in cabinetry area for setting out coffee and dessert, to a hand painted sideboard cabinet, and even a champagne bucket and stand we brought back from a Paris market...this space is truly locked and loaded for hosting our friends and family with ease.

Built in 1924, this apartment on lower Fifth Avenue was brought into the 21st century. The main focus of this ground up renovation was to create a direct link from the living room to the kitchen, creating a more open and airy plan. A closet was removed to connect the living room and kitchen while also allowing room for a large, extendable dining table.
Everything was demolished to make way for a more modern, loft-like style. Even the old, worn-out floors were replaced with solid Oak, random-planks by LV Wood.

The client for this room was a young teen who wanted a fun, contemporary room. The one must have for my client was the acrilic bubble hanging chair. After the bubble chair, we bought a new bed. We added a touch of teal, ( my clients favorite color) black bedding, new paint color and new lighting. The Paris at Night photo pulled the look together. My client loves her new bedroom and even makes her bed everyday!
