In this project, the use of integrated appliances adds to the visual and versatility of the kitchen. Double-drawer dishwasher eliminates energy-wasting half loads. Bonus: when entertaining, fill top draw with ice… presto, an insulated cooler that’s emptied by simply closing and hitting the “Drain” button. Space-hogging, side-by-side fridge replaced with taller, integrated unit more suitably proportioned to the space and client’s active, social lifestyle.

Our Carmel design-build studio planned a beautiful open-concept layout for this home with a lovely kitchen, adjoining dining area, and a spacious and comfortable living space. We chose a classic blue and white palette in the kitchen, used high-quality appliances, and added plenty of storage spaces to make it a functional, hardworking kitchen. In the adjoining dining area, we added a round table with elegant chairs. The spacious living room comes alive with comfortable furniture and furnishings with fun patterns and textures. A stunning fireplace clad in a natural stone finish creates visual interest. Party lights have been assembled on a steel loop frame and suspended from the large trees above to create a cool atmosphere in the yard. The circle of lights is suspended directly above the round Ipe deck, and built to the same size.

Custom kitchen/bar with a zinc face frame and reclaimed oak doors and drawers. The counters and sink are a charcoal concrete and the raised bar is a live edge walnut slab.
