Our screened in porch and pergola project turned out amazing. Kevin Transue is very creative and has an excellent eye for design. His wife Judy was wonderful to work with as well. All of their subcontractors did excellent quality work and we were comfortable having them at our home. We could not be any happier with the results and our porch has become the favorite room in the house.

Every aspect of the job was to the utmost perfection. All workers were polite, professional and the best in their fields. CHC was very thorough, not a single thing was overlooked. They went above and beyond the scope of what they were hired to do.

Kevin had done some creative and great work next door for their basement. I wanted someone with a creative eye, who didn't just come in and say, here's a floor we can put in. Kevin has one of those minds that when he walks into a room you're wondering what to do with, you can see his wheels in his brain start turning!!! I've never seen that before. He took our space, changed it slightly in the physical build of the room and transformed it into an amazing space. He has a great knack for color and space and dimension. I'm actually sorry that about 4 years before my mom talked me into using someone she knew to do the kitchen. I wonder what that room would have looked like. His team was always responsive and respectful. He uses local sub-contractors that he has a personal relationship with and I never worried leaving the house for them to work in while I was gone (or even out of town!) He brought us a budget and we could have stuck with it but I was the one who wanted the nicer materials. Deadlines were close. I happen to make decisions easily on what I like so that made it easier for them as well. We wanted the basement done for a graduation party. It was about 2 weeks away from perfect. Kevin didn't like that there was some unfinished tile work so he went and photocopied what the tile would look like. Hours before the party, he came himself and glued it on to the surface so when our guests came downstairs, it looked perfect! I have since hired Kevin to do small projects and consult on the repair to our exterior. I've suggested his name to our neighbors and friends and I would hire him again in a minute.

Renovation of a 35 plus year barn to the ultimate entertainment venue #party barn. The transformation from average garage interior and barn facade to "vintage" was a reset in time with all of the modern amenities you could hope for.

After following Kevin and Judy of CHCCR at remodeling shows and on the Kansas City NARI remodeling tours, we invited them to submit a proposal for our kitchen-great room remodel. Our initial meetings consisted of Kevin drilling us with questions about lifestyles, expectations, likes and dislikes. Extended conversations followed over modified designs incorporating the ideas and suggestions from our previous meeting. From the very start, Kevin said he would keep modifying his plans until they reflected a design we thought was perfect for us. About 18 iterations later, we were there, we thought! But at the weekly project review meetings, subtle changes to the original design allowed us to add special little touches that enhanced the project. An earlier review mentioned knowing your budget because Kevin's creativity doesn't. That said, he always had a variety of price points to choose from, and respected our decisions as the homeowners. He and Judy were very helpful in guiding design choices when we asked for their input, yet never imposed their opinions on us, thus allowing us "ownership" of our new space. During the several month course of our remodel, neighbors would frequently ask how the project was going? Are we still talking to our designer? Would we use them again? Our answer was always the same, "If the CHCCR sign is still in the front yard, things are good!" The wind blew it over a couple of times, but never intentionally removed until the end when Kevin and Judy moved it to their next project. After seeing the transformation Kevin, Judy, and their craftsmen created for us, we would highly recommend CHCCR. Their expectations for the quality of work done by their subs paralleled ours. We also understand how Kevin has been named a finalist in a national Fresh Faces of Design competition in the category of Design With A Passion as he is unbelievably creative, and his passion for his clients and their projects is unparalleled. Unlike many creative geniuses, he, and Judy, are easy conversationalists, kind-hearted, fun-loving, trustworthy, and just genuine good people you enjoy being around. We could not be happier with the choice we made, and our new space is spectacular!

I'm not even sure where to begin because it is difficult to put into words how happy we have been with CHC Creative Remodeling. My husband and I have hired MANY contractors and trade specialists over the years and not one of them even remotely comes close to CHC. Both Kevin and Judy have been involved in our Lower Level project from day one. They are thorough, professional, organized, and genuinely good, honest people. I would have to write a whole other review in an attempt to explain Kevin's creativity. I struggle with even finding the right words to describe his talent. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, he can't do. To say he "thinks outside the box" would be the understatement of the century. There is truly no limit to his creativity. He has come up with some of the most unbelievable ideas we have ever heard of. I would even go so far to say he is a creative genius! We interviewed five other companies before meeting Kevin. Within minutes of our consultation, both my husband and I knew he was the perfect fit for our job. We are finishing up our original project with him now and have since added multiple other projects because his creativity truly knows no ends. He redesigned our hearth and will soon be making over our mudroom and bathroom. My pocketbook is afraid to see what else he comes up with but I am incredibly excited! He is not the cheapest but he is- without a doubt- worth every single penny. His wife, Judy, is also a wonderful accompaniment to Kevin's creativity. She keeps everything organized and makes sure all of the subcontractors stay on schedule. She has become very special to our family, in particular my 3-year-old daughter who simply adores her. (Judy brings nail polish to our weekly status meetings to paint my daughter's fingernails!) Speaking of subcontractors- a few of their subs have been some of the nicest, most talented guys we've ever met. CHC has very high expectations of their subs and each of the trades we've dealt with has met or exceeded the expectations. I wish I was a better writer so I could fully express how thrilled we are to have found CHC. Their projects are over-the-top incredible. Their professionalism and genuine concern for their clients is a rarity in this business. I can't say enough good things about Kevin & Judy and all their sub-contractors. Hopefully I've conveyed how happy we are with them. They truly are one of a kind.

CHCCR is absolutely amazing! They combine passion, creativity, and workmanship to deliver amazing results. They turned our mediocre idea for a three-season room into a stunning addition to our house. I highly recommend Kevin & his crew!

We hired Kevin and Judy Transue of CHC Creative Remodeling for the creative aspect of their work, after visiting a basement and kitchen they had done for the Parade of Homes in Kansas City. We were so impressed with their originality that we were willing to pay a little extra for refinishing our own basement. The finished basement has now been in use for a year and the whole family absolutely loves it! We had an outside door and window moved, a small kitchen installed, a non-existent bathroom put in, a movie area and a play area designed, and every aspect of the construction was carefully planned out and executed. The Project Manager was outstanding, taking into account every concern. The crews that came in to do the work were considerate and top notch. Sit down with Kevin and make sure you understand your budget limits, because his creativity has none. My wife and I are sure you and your family and friends will love your new space.

Kevin Transue's design ability, vigilance to detail, and overall vision made our basement become the industrial-style sports cave of which we had always dreamed. By subcontracting only highly-skilled, select individuals with whom CHCCR had previous professional relationships, all carpentry, electrical work, and metal work were outstanding. As business manager, Judy Transue made the entire build process run seamlessly. With credit to her and CHCCR's excellent planning and forethought, we met with Kevin and/or the project manager for our job on a weekly basis in order to discuss what had been done, what was currently being worked on, and what would follow in the forthcoming week(s). CHC Creative Remodeling is a wonderful company that has won numerous awards from NARI and REMI for their work. Judy and Kevin are an absolute pleasure to work with and are both very personable. Wonderful company to work with. They are creative, very professionals and they did a fine job in every aspect. We remodeled our master bathroom and we were and are so pleased with the results. They give you the best design and options to make you remodeling experience easy and wonderful. The owner and designer have a great eye on space and layout.
