Every home has a story, and this one began with a simple, meaningful goal: creating a beautiful pied-à-terre that would keep our client close to the people she loves most. Working alongside a client with extensive construction knowledge made the design process especially rewarding. Together, we focused on making every square foot work harder without sacrificing style. The kitchen and bathroom became showcases of thoughtful planning, incorporating clever storage solutions, hidden organizational features, and custom details that maximize both function and everyday living. Great design is only possible when it’s paired with exceptional craftsmanship. Thanks to our talented contractor, every creative idea was carefully brought to life with precision and attention to detail. The result is a sophisticated retreat that feels spacious, organized, and effortlessly livable—a home where smart design quietly enhances every moment.

Reclaimed wood box beams bring warmth and antique character to the ceiling of this contemporary wine cellar, their naturally weathered tones softening the sleek lines of a modern wine room lined floor to ceiling with bottle storage. It is an unexpected application that works beautifully, the aged patina and honest grain of these antique timbers adding a sense of depth and history to a space designed around some of the finest things in life. Sourced from 19th and early 20th century structures, these box beams carry more than a century of natural character that no manufactured material can replicate. Through our process of denailing, kiln drying, and precision milling, Manomin Resawn Timbers prepares these antique timbers for any application, expected or not. Whether you are a homebuilder, a home remodeling contractor, or a homeowner looking to add reclaimed wood box beams to a wine cellar or specialty room, Manomin Resawn Timbers has been helping people discover the antique charm of reclaimed wood since 2002. Kitchen Renovation: layout modification and aesthetic upgrades. Cabinets: Rustic Cherry Natural Counter tops: Golden Supreme Granite Back splash: Rittenhouse square bisquit Appliances: Samsung Black Stainless This was a traditional ranch style home with a small kitchen that lacked counter top space and had a cramped dining room that blocked access to the garage and back patio. The renovation focused on creating better flow, opening up the walkways, increasing storage and was upgraded to our aesthetic taste. The island incorporates dining seating for up to 5 while also providing storage for the Microwave, Trash/Recycling and Storage for dog food/board games. We designed a custom hood surround to fit within our limited ceiling height. This simple design added character and visual interest to a simple space plan. Full height pantry storage was added on the end of the kitchen by the patio doors, leaving just enough room before the garage door for the dog food bowls. Electrical was upgraded for the whole space, going from 2 outlets in the kitchen to 7 has increased the usability of the space. A USB outlet was added to the end of the island so that people can charge their phones. Prior to the renovation there was a lack of lighting, we added can lights and an island pendant to increase visibility for prep.

THE PROBLEM Our client came to use with a kitchen that was outdated, didn't flow well or use space efficiently and wasn't offering the best views of their bucolic backyard. Their stately colonial home in a beautiful West Newbury neighborhood was in need of an overhaul. THE SOLUTION The primary focus was creating a more open and accessible L-shaped layout with oversized island and seating for 4-5 people. The appliances were relocated to optimal placements and allowed for a full 48" range, double ovens, appliances cabinetry with hidden microwave, in-island beverage center as well as dishwasher. We were even able to supplement the walk-in pantry with a free standing pantry for additional storage. In addition to a kitchen that performed better, we also increased the amount of natural light in the space with a larger window and through use of materials and paint, such as updating the trim to white, which reflects the light throughout the space. Rather than replace the hardwood floors, we simply refinished the existing oak floors.

After putting in a new swimming pool, our client’s main goal was to create a functional outdoor living space that would accommodate friends and family and satisfy their need for entertaining large groups of people. Progressive Design Build designed a solution that started with a large covered patio and seating area. The renovation focused on building a grilling station that included a curved granite countertop with an area for seating at the end of the cabinet run; and a large grill and hood vent, which allowed for an adequate cooking surface area to accommodate any occasion. We matched the existing brick pavers from an existing area of the home to create a cohesive look and maintain the rustic feel of the backyard. The cabinets were built out of Cypress and stained to match the finish of the newly installed wood patio ceiling. We were also able to supply and install a new fire pit so this family could enjoy the beautiful Florida sunsets with friends and family—the ones we Southwest Florida residents have the privilege of experiencing and enjoying throughout the year.
