Hours of construction and design building led the Gappsi group to create a Thursday Goliath 16x37 fiberglass swimming pool with a 3/8 bluestone gravel base that was installed for the under layer of the pool shell for stabilization. Once the pool was adjusted and numerous factors were considered, the pool was then lifted and dropped in place. After installation, Gappsi associates placed solar tubes around the perimeter of the pool to increase support for the concrete slab of the patio base. This fiberglass swimming pool was installed by Gappsi in Lawrence NY 11559, located on the south shore of Nassau County Long Island. Due to the areas high water table the pool needed to be elevated, and many yards of fill were delivered to raise the grade of the property. We faced many challenges installing this fiberglass pool because of its size and weight. The delivery was the main obstacle because due to the size of this pool, 16x37, it was very costly to cross bridges and drive on highways. Due to the size of this magnificent pool we needed 2 police car escorts to the job site. The patio pavers used for this job were the Melfi Limestone. This unique stone is an earthy, multi-toned masterpiece; shades of beige, green, brown. and gray bring natural tones to the design. The stones are strategically placed in a Vincenza pattern along with a 2 inch thick random coping for the pool edge. The Melfi Limestone, and many other stones, are exclusively available at Gappsi. The stones are a beautiful contrast to the sapphire blue liner inside the pool. Plus assorted flowers and trees bring in pops of color and interest to the backyard area. To enhance the aesthetic of the Thursday Goliath fiberglass swimming pool a safety auto cover was installed. The sleek blue auto cover allows customers to easily protect the pool by simply turning a key. The Goliath, 16x37 is 3.8” to 6’8”deep which makes this fiberglass pool a non-diving pool, however, the pool can be used for a plethora of reasons. It's Olympic inspired shape is perfect for a morning workout swim, play water activities/sports with the kids, and allows family and friends to lounge on the extended benches and steps that are molded in the pool shell by the manufacture. The decision to go small is about her personal values, committing to a lifestyle, and living within her means. The move to design small is a subjective decision that weighs in on a number of factors that can’t possibly be summed up in one statement, but the obvious benefits jump to the front...easier to maintain, less cleaning, less expensive, less debt, less environmental impact, less temptation to accumulate. Her design requirements were simple, small footprint less than 1000 sq. ft., garage below the living area, and take advantage of the amazing view. Karen and Chad of Tower Lakes, IL were tired of their unfinished basement functioning as nothing more than a storage area and depressing gym. They wanted to increase the livable square footage of their home with a cohesive finished basement design, while incorporating space for the kids and adults to hang out. “We wanted to make sure that upon renovating the basement, that we can have a place where we can spend time and watch movies, but also entertain and showcase the wine collection that we have,” Karen said. After a long search comparing many different remodeling companies, Karen and Chad found Advance Design Studio. They were drawn towards the unique “Common Sense Remodeling” process that simplifies the renovation experience into predictable steps focused on customer satisfaction. “There are so many other design/build companies, who may not have transparency, or a focused process in mind and I think that is what separated Advance Design Studio from the rest,” Karen said. Karen loved how designer Claudia Pop was able to take very high-level concepts, “non-negotiable items” and implement them in the initial 3D drawings. Claudia and Project Manager DJ Yurik kept the couple in constant communication through the project. “Claudia was very receptive to the ideas we had, but she was also very good at infusing her own points and thoughts, she was very responsive, and we had an open line of communication,” Karen said. A very important part of the basement renovation for the couple was the home gym and sauna. The “high-end hotel” look and feel of the openly blended work out area is both highly functional and beautiful to look at. The home sauna gives them a place to relax after a long day of work or a tough workout. “The gym was a very important feature for us,” Karen said. “And I think (Advance Design) did a very great job in not only making the gym a functional area, but also an aesthetic point in our basement”. An extremely unique wow-factor in this basement is the walk in glass wine cellar that elegantly displays Karen and Chad’s extensive wine collection. Immediate access to the stunning wet bar accompanies the wine cellar to make this basement a popular spot for friends and family. The custom-built wine bar brings together two natural elements; Calacatta Vicenza Quartz and thick distressed Black Walnut. Sophisticated yet warm Graphite Dura Supreme cabinetry provides contrast to the soft beige walls and the Calacatta Gold backsplash. An undermount sink across from the bar in a matching Calacatta Vicenza Quartz countertop adds functionality and convenience to the bar, while identical distressed walnut floating shelves add an interesting design element and increased storage. Rich true brown Rustic Oak hardwood floors soften and warm the space drawing all the areas together. Across from the bar is a comfortable living area perfect for the family to sit down at a watch a movie. A full bath completes this finished basement with a spacious walk-in shower, Cocoa Brown Dura Supreme vanity with Calacatta Vicenza Quartz countertop, a crisp white sink and a stainless-steel Voss faucet. In this project located in the Bay Area, specifically in Walnut Creek, we wanted to create a bedroom for a teenager that'll felt youthful and fun but at the same time evoked a grown-up sensation. We focus on maintaining our pallette neutral and natural with bold indigo paint for the accent wall. Brass light fixtures were the perfect selection to elevate the look into a more sophisticated aesthetic. And last but not least this rug was the wow factor to the whole room.

For this project we knew we were expanding the indoor outdoor flow by removing a wall of the house, creating a pocket door, so the interior living room was going to merge perfectly with the new exterior living room. The first element of the design we worked out was a built-in Banco seating around a central fire pit, with cushions and exterior fabrics, that even has a one piece cover that can snap in place. This will protect the fabrics in place while the couple travels, without having to drag them through the house to the garage for storage. The second critical factor of the design was implementing an outdoor kitchen just off camera, built-in to a patio Column, so that it becomes a serving bar and the appliances are behind the bar not out in the public space. Across the water, the vanishing edge spa was the visual draw, reflecting a fruitless olive tree, all enjoyed from the fire pit seating area. The back edge of the pool features a knife edge tile to granite interface without a coping, to minimize the line between water and landscape. Last but not least, the sweeping arc curvature of the pools leading edge was done so as to ease traffic flow from the entertaining and fire seating area to the spa, and to soften the otherwise rectangular lines of the yard.

The building is the last remaining structure in Downtown Denver with a cast-iron facade. HouseHome was invited to take on a poorly designed loft and transform it into a luxury Airbnb rental. Since this building has such a dense history, it was our mission to bring the focus back onto the unique features, such as the original brick, large windows, and unique architecture. Our client wanted the space to be transformed into a luxury, unique Airbnb for world travelers and tourists hoping to experience the history and art of the Denver scene. We went with a modern, clean-lined design with warm brick, moody black tones, and pops of green and white, all tied together with metal accents. The high-contrast black ceiling is the wow factor in this design, pushing the envelope to create a completely unique space. Other added elements in this loft are the modern, high-gloss kitchen cabinetry, the concrete tile backsplash, and the unique multi-use space in the Living Room. Master Suite /Dance Studio Addition Exterior With home prices rising and residential lots getting smaller, this Encinitas couple decided to stay in place and add on to their beloved home and neighborhood. Retired, but very active, they planned for the golden years while having fun along the way. This Master Suite now fosters their passion for dancing as a studio for practice and dance parties. With every detail meticulously designed and perfected, their new indoor/outdoor space is the highlight of their home. "We found Kerry at TaylorPro early on in our decision process.
