Custom-Sized Window for Light, Scale & Comfort
This living room features a custom window specifically designed and built to the homeowner’s exact measurements, transforming the space through enhanced natural light, improved proportions, and a stronger connection to the outdoors. Rather than relying on off-the-shelf sizing, the window was carefully specified to suit the room’s layout and ceiling height, ensuring a clean, intentional look.
The large glazing area brightens the living space while maintaining energy efficiency and comfort—an essential consideration in Toronto’s climate. From a construction perspective, this required precise framing, structural coordination, and detailing to seamlessly integrate the window into the renovated envelope.
As part of the full-home transformation and second floor addition, this custom window exemplifies Cedarstone Group Inc.’s approach to tailored design solutions—where architectural elements are sized and placed to enhance how a home feels and functions, not just how it looks.

This custom kitchen detail at Project Lee Circle in Buckhead highlights a sculpted plaster range hood paired with a professional grade range and refined stone surround. Thoughtful material selections and clean architectural lines reflect elevated kitchen design within this Buckhead custom home.

This project was a total transformation of their home. The existing house ended were you see the raised floor to the right. We removed two walls of almost 40' and completely opened up the new added space into one "Great Room" using Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS). Sips are high performance building panels used in floors, walls and roofs, they are about the same cost as conventional building but are much greener and 58% more energy efficient according to findings by the State of Washington. Our customers have twin teenage sons and wanted a space where they could enjoy all of their friends and this remodel became the gathering place for many of their son's school events.

Lewis Creek Company recommended a high performance wall detail in the assembly of the dining addition. Spray foam insulation creates a perfect air seal on all sides: the walls, vaulted ceilings, and floor. The deep insulation keeps this addition cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, while still allowing for conventional framing assemblies.

Situated on Lake Austin, we knew that this was going not going to be a simple remodel. From the start we planned that we had to leave the original home in place so that we could be grandfathered at it's location for the new addition and benefit to the close proximity that the home was to the lake. New regulations required that the home be set back further from the lake. It became clear during the design process that our owners were 100% committed to making this home not only environmentally friendly but also energy efficient by incorporating many high performance and up to date science into the design. Using Geo Thermal is one of them. They didn't want airconditioners to pollute the environment with their noise. They preferred to hear the trill of the birds instead. The resulting new build was designed with the original structure and added onto. The owners entertain but didn't want formal living spaced. The resulting structure is simultaneously freshly modern and comfortingly familiar. Awarded the Texas Association of Builders, Remodel/Renovation/ Addition of the Year STAR Award. Carport minimizing impervious cover.

Kitchen – Statement Island with Integrated Storage & Feature Lighting | Toronto
This image highlights the kitchen island as both a design statement and a highly functional workhorse within the open-concept main floor. The island’s scale and proportions were carefully designed to anchor the space while maintaining generous circulation around it.
Above, sleek island light fixtures provide focused task lighting and visual rhythm, helping define the island as a focal point without overpowering the surrounding cabinetry. Their placement was coordinated early in the lighting plan to align precisely with the island’s dimensions and seating layout.
Below the seating overhang, integrated storage is built directly into the island, maximizing functionality without compromising legroom or comfort. This hidden storage is ideal for everyday items—keeping the kitchen organized while preserving its clean, uncluttered appearance.
Together, the island design, lighting, and concealed storage demonstrate Cedarstone Group Inc.’s design-build approach: every element is intentional, multi-functional, and seamlessly integrated, resulting in a kitchen that looks refined and performs effortlessly in daily life.

The rear 2-storey addition is blended seamlessly with the existing home; a red brick was selected to match the existing home, and the existing home itself is upgraded to provide larger, better performing windows that further help blend the old with the new.

Among the bestin art fireplace design, the AF120 Remote Controlled Electronic Bio Ethanol Fireplace Insert is favored by architects, contractors and high-end designers and offers the discerning client unprecedented quality and safety. In addition to the same vent-free and clean burning flames as manual ethanol fireplace inserts, this art-Fire bio ethanol burner offers much more for both residential and commercial applications:
Remote Control Capability. Due to its electronic operation, powered by a twelve-volt power source, this ethanol fireplace insert may be ignited and extinguished through an on/off switch located on the burner itself, a one-button remote control or through your smart phone by integrating with your Smart Home System.
On-Board Safety Monitoring. The motherboard of this fireplace insert is safety-central. Constantly self-evaluating its operation, this intelligent burner reacts to any condition that appears atypical. Should it sense an excess amount of carbon dioxide emission or heat output, it will automatically cease operation, extinguish the flame and maintain the lock mechanism of the fuel chamber. Additionally, it will self-extinguish should it sense seismic motion or level of tilt making it a shock-proof device. Fuel and battery levels are also constantly evaluated for optimal performance and will give notification through the burner’s LED display, which will indicate operation times and alert you by sound and error message should an event occur.
Sturdy Construction. Constructed of Grade 304 stainless steel, the ethanol burner is corrosion resistant and exhibits excellent resistance to atmospheric, chemical and other exposures. Its top plate measures three millimeters in thickness(3/32 inches). This allows sturdiness, yet promotes a low profile. For added safety, the ethanol fireplace AF120 insert offers insulated double hearth construction.
Separate Fuel Reservoir and Burner Tray. Continuing with the unprecedented safety features of this ethanol burner, excess fuel is housed in a sealed reservoir. This not only prevents fuel evaporation and the aromatic release of the raw ethanol, but lessens the amount of “exposed” fuel at any given time. Through a medical grade fuel pump, the ethanol is delivered into the burner tray. Only allowing the burner tray to manage a few centiliters of ethanol fuel at a given time promotes additional safety and minimizes the risk of fire-related dangers.

This beautiful colonial in Marion, Massachusetts is even more gorgeous with its new GAF Timberline HD roof!
There is more to a roof than shingles – in fact there are several components to a professionally installed GAF Lifetime Roofing System. Here is the anatomy of our Marion homeowner’s roof:
GAF Timberline HD Shingles Marion, MAGAF Timberline HD Roof Shingles: A beautiful architectural shingle at an affordable price! This is our most popular roof shingle here at Care Free Homes! Our Marion customer selected the classic color, Charcoal. This high performance shingle features a 130 mph wind rating and highest possible fire rating.
Underlayment: A felt/paper product that is installed over the entire roof deck, underlayment provides an additional layer of protection between the roof deck and the roof shingles.
Ice Dam and Water Shield: After a brutal winter and unprecedented snow fall, many New England homes suffered damage from ice dams. Ice Dam and Water Shield provides added protection for eves, rakes, valleys as well as flashed areas around vent pipes, chimneys, dormers, and skylights. Whether it’s a winter wonderland or a hurricane, this homeowner will not have to worry about ice dams or driving rain.
GAF Timberline HD, Marion, MA Dormers
Premium Aluminum Drip Edge: Installed along the rakes, drip edge serves several purposes. It improves the efficiency of water shedding, prevents leaking from a wind-driven rain as well as movement between the deck and fascia boards. Drip edge also keeps pesky insects from infiltrating the space between the roof deck and the fascia boards. With a choice of three colors, white, brown and gray, it provides a finished look for a roof.
GAF Pro-Start Eave/Rake Starter Strip: Every story has a beginning and every roof should have a starter strip. Here in New England we’ve got to have our roof be tougher than mother nature. To prevent shingle blow off, an ultra-adhered starter strip properly secures shingles in place during a storm. In contrast, the amateur roofer will often use cut-up shingles as a starter course. This weakened “starter course” lowers the wind resistance of a roof and makes it more susceptible to both wind and water damage. With straighter edges, Dura-Grip adhesive, and outstanding warranties – starter strip will provide beauty, performance and peace of mind.
GAF Cobra Ridge Vent: Ridge vents provide necessary airflow to remove excess heat and moisture in an attic. It inhibits the growth of mold and protects the health of the homeowners as well as their stored possessions. A properly vented attic will also protect homes in harsh winter climates from ice damming.

Most people would jump at an opportunity like this and Serene Steam has invented and designed innovative methods to create a complete wellness environment producing heat, steam/hot vapor infused with your choice of Essential Oils for the ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation as an elegant stand-alone unit installed in your shower enclosure .
Serene Steam is bringing innovation to the wellness culture. The way we perceive and gauge relaxation is about to change with a Serene Steam spa system. Now you have the perfect opportunity to pamper yourself in your personal shower enclosure with a beautifully designed spa system which produces a hot and humid spa environment.
Benefits - A hot steam spa, or steam shower environment has a physiological effect on the body which is very similar to that of a sauna. The hot vapors and heat may open up the pores, increases the metabolism, elevates the heart rate, and the body begins to sweat. This can result in health benefits, especially when a hot steamy environment is used safely and frequently (please read precautions). Some spas have also introduced the use of Aromatherapy in their systems to provide additional health benefits and relax clients. Enjoy a Serene Steam Spa system in your own shower enclosure.
Clearer skin - May improve the clarity of their skin over time.
Stress relief - One of the most powerful benefits may be the ability to reduce both physical and mental stress.
Metabolism and weight loss - In some instances, a hot steamy environment can even assist with weight management due to heavier perspiration.
WHY CONSIDER A SERENE STEAM SPA SYSTEM?
The fundamental reason among others, is that Serene Steam does not require any generators, nor any electricity at all. Rather, It is an impressive alternative to bulky electrical generators and has been certified by IAPMO for easy installation by a qualified plumber or contractor. A Serene Steam Spa system brings a moist heat, Essential Oils infused steam/Spa experience into your existing shower enclosure and generally requires basic installation.
Unlike competitors who require generators and an electrical supply to create a hot spa environment, (also known as a steam shower, wet sauna and alike), Serene Steam only requires the two primary connections which already exist in every bathroom - A water supply, and a drain, that's it. There are also no extra "a la carte" expenses required (other than basic plumbing parts) after you have purchased a Serene Steam Spa system. Everything is ready out of the box and only requires basic off the shelf plumbing fittings to install. You may require an additional spa bench for your new spa (not included).
All models are inclusive of our patented steam/hot vapor feature, a Bluetooth Audio system for music and phone calls, and a dedicated Aromatherapy feature for using Essential oils . When constructing a shower enclosure to use with any steam product, or alike, the type of wall materials which you use may also have an impact on the shower enclosure temperature and the time required to reach optimal comfort, please check with your local contractor. Remember, regardless of which steam system you use, all shower enclosures must be steam ready, and your local contractor or plumber should know how to seal your shower enclosure correctly to avoid the hot water vapors from exiting your shower enclosure during use.
PREFERRED SHOWER SIZE:
During use, Serene Steam provides an impressive amount of steam/hot vapor to occupy most standard shower enclosures, However, as with most steam shower enclosures, the smaller the area, the more effective the heat will feel.
With Serene Steam there is no specific size shower required due to the way it functions, also bearing in mind that with a movable spa bench (not included) it is possible to position yourself within any desired location should you have an extra-large/nonstandard shower enclosure. The diagram below should be a good indication of the preferred size of your shower enclosure. Please note that not all shower enclosures will provide the exact same results.
