The entryway wall and custom wine cellar door CA (Herculite style) were crafted from glass.
This gave the otherwise traditional wine cellar a distinctly contemporary look. As you can see, the glass wall and entryway wall make for excellent wine showcasing.
The glass panels were insulated and equipped with weather stripping to help stabilize the conditions in the wine cellar.

A dream of a vanity graces a previously unused alcove in this relaxing and lovely master bedroom. With plenty of room for toiletries and hidden outlets, appliances and necessities can be stored away while the visible storage highlights a collection of crystal perfume bottles and other pretties.

Wine cellar - contemporary dark wood floor wine cellar idea in San Francisco with gray walls and display racks

The breakfast area focal point is seen from the front door and is captured by a beautiful slab of quartzite hung on the wall as art. The sideboard underneath the slab is intricately designed with inlaid mother of pearl and, when opened, lights up to highlight bottles inside. We used the existing table and moved the neutral upholstered chairs from the dining area. The previously built-in bench area used for reading, is now finished off with custom cushions and large throw pillows for a comfortable rest area.
The dining area is now complete with colorful dining chairs that transition nicely into the large living area. Because our client loved pattern, we decided to use chairs that had a fun but unusual circle pattern on the back panel and play up the color with a fun striped fabric. The table is adorned with a silk floral arrangement and bright green circle hurricanes.

The same shaker-style Grabill cabinetry was installed in the adjacent family room but stained in a rich dark tone to create variety in the home.
Tall cabinets flank the grand fireplace allowing it to be the focal point in the room. Light-toned stacked ledger stone was installed around the fireplace surround to contrast the dark-tone cabinets.
Open shelving was designed on each side to display the homeowner’s favorite belongings, while keeping this custom-made furniture piece from appearing to heavy and overbearing.
A sense of balance is created through this symmetrical design of these built-ins, allowing for an overall striking and polished design.

This beautiful bar cabinet with burnt oak adjustable shelves is part of our Loft Shelving System. Our Loft posts in blackened gunmetal and fully machined brass fittings in our buffed brass finish mount from the top of our cabinet and tie back to the wall to support 8 shelves. Amuneal’s proprietary machined hardware clamps onto the posts so that the shelves can be easily adjusted at any time. The burnt oak shelves are milled in house from solid white oak to a thickness of 1.5” before being hand-finished using the traditional Shou Sugi Ban process of burning the wood. Once completed, the shelves are sealed with a protective coating that keeps that burnt finish from rubbing off. The combination of blackened steel posts, machined and patinated brass hardware and the charred oak shelves make this a stunning and sculptural shelving option for any space. Integrated bronze bottle stops and wine glass holders add detail and purpose. The lower portion of this bar system is a tall credenza in one of Amuneal’s new finishes, cerused chestnut. The credenza storage highlights the system’s flexibility with drawers, cabinets and glass fronted doors, all with Amuneal fully machined and full width drawer pulls. Behind the glass doors, are a series of pull-out wine trays, carved from solid oak, allowing both display and storage in this unit. This unit is fabricated in our Philadelphia-based furniture studio and can be customized with different metal and wood finishes as well as different shelf widths, sizes and configurations.
