The homeowner wanted to have her backyard professionally designed addressing a persisting drainage issue that compromised the pool maintenance.
The design addressed the drainage issue by installing an underground system with PVC piping and catch basins to deviate water to the street.
The homeowner's main desire was to create a walking area behind the pool with space for quiet reading and a new landscape to provide privacy and enjoyment. Sphere boxwoods are the protagonists of the scene over limestone gravel along with agapanthuses; both adapted to partial shade from the many pine trees located along with the property. The main accomplishment was to provide a lush landscape in a previously problematic area with no drainage and shade. The flow of the walking area continues with liriope and mondo grass leading to a peaceful reading area surrounded by beautiful boulders and muhly grass.

When Peek Pools and Spas was excavating the pool area, they hit a hard massive stone,” says Dave. “They had to keep digging and digging to dislodge it. To them, the massive rock was big a problem to be overcome. But when we spied it, we immediately said, ‘That’s our grotto rock!’
“Our friends at Pool Kings thought we were crazy, because it was so large. It wasn’t easy, but our team was persistent, even when the excavating machine’s chain snapped because the rock was so heavy.” www.deckandpatio.com

A smart solution for storing toys, clothes and bedding in a small space
What makes pink "chic" and "in" for girls is generally unknown !? Although it emerged as a fashion trend sometime in the second half of the 20th century, it still persists. Today, the color pink is almost always associated with girls and a children's room in pink was requested by our client for her 4 year old daughter.
When in the conditions of KOVID 19 children spend more time at home and in 4 walls, the request was to create a room that will provide adequate space for play.
The very square of the room required to create an easily accessible storage space for clothes, bedding and toys, while leaving room for changes that will follow the growth and development of the girl. For these reasons, the bed is raised on the floor and a play area is left under the bed itself, with the possibility in the near future to turn it into a working part.

This full yard remodel was designed to enhance both function and curb appeal. Custom patina metal planters were installed in the backyard and front yard to add visual interest and a modern, timeless touch. Faux turf was incorporated to replace high-traffic areas and eliminate persistent muddy spots, creating a clean and low-maintenance landscape solution.
Special care was taken to preserve existing mature trees, with custom turf cutouts around established trunks to allow for proper growth and drainage. The result is a cohesive, pet-friendly outdoor space that stays green year-round while maintaining the natural character of the property.

Crape Myrtle
Towns across the South dedicate tours and festivals to crape myrtles. When the heat is on, they put on their best flower show. Known for their abundant blooms, crape myrtles are one of the most identifiable trees in our local landscapes. You'll find a wide variety of flower colors available, as well as plant sizes. But it's not just the flowers that make this small tree distinctive - it's bark puts on an equally impressive show.
Crape myrtles need a full sun location in order to stay healthy and flower well. Plants in too much shade will grow thin, weak, and have persistent problems with sooty mold and pests.
Be sure to check the mature size of the crape myrtle variety you select. You can find plants that grow as small as 1.5 feet...all the way up to 40 feet! Right plant, right place. Choose a crape myrtle that will fit the space you choose.
