This time, to renovate their dated 70’s Bathroom to maximize functionality, and to meet their personal needs. Through careful planning, we were able to create and rework the Bathroom floor plan to create a spacious and comfortable space. To create extra storage space, a vanity with recessed tall cabinets was custom-built. Existing load-bearing walls did not allow for a barn door. Instead, a swing shaker-style door was installed, and a curved countertop was used on the vanity to ensure easy entrance into the room. The vanity doors were finished in white, which perfectly complimented the white quartz countertop to provide a clean and modern look. The chrome faucet of the vessel sink matches the chrome outline of the medicine cabinet nicely. The shower with a glass enclosure features a luxurious rain head shower, and grab bars on each wall provide comfort and support. Marbled tile flooring and shower walls provide a seamless look. At RCID, we don’t typically take on commercial projects—but when a returning client invited us to reimagine the lobby of their condo building at 225 25th Ave SW in Calgary, we couldn’t resist the opportunity. In collaboration with Crafted Edge Homes, we set out to bring a warmer, more residential feel to the common spaces of Riverscape, transforming them into areas that welcome residents home. The lobby received a complete refresh, including new tile, paint, vertical wood slats at the entry, upgraded signage, and a custom staircase feature that adds both visual interest and flow. Every floor above was painted using a unique technique to subtly draw attention to individual doors, giving each level its own personality while maintaining cohesion throughout the building.

They had an Apartment in Tokyo. They had an Estate in Dallas. But what they really wanted was to be, "At the Lake". So they bought a contractor-built house nestled by a pristine Lake. They Sighed at the beautiful view. They Sighed at the inside of the house. They wanted it to feel more like them, more like a home. SO... they called HOM. After just 3 Meetings all agreed on what to do! Make it Warm, Modern, Cozy, and Striking. The Family left for Tokyo. And HOM. went to work. HOM. added a New Metal Railing. HOM. added reclaimed wooden beams from nearby Barns. HOM. added Large Original Art Pieces that were interpretations of the Rocks in the nearby Stream running through their Property. HOM. added multi-functional seating. More Dramatic Lighting. Accessories that were personal but did not over “ooze” the Lake idea. It became a Personal HOM. A HOM. they wanted, “At the Lake”. When the Family returned from Tokyo for a Thanksgiving Gathering, all were stunned. They now had, at last, a HOM. “At the Lake”. Two Years later... One of the daughters was getting married. The Parents offered to throw her wedding anywhere in the world she would like. Her answer was, I want to get married... "At the Lake".
