A Sussex family hired us as the design build remodel company to makeover this kitchen. This remodeling project had three main goals: improve storage, update the layout/style and enhance the functionality.
IMPROVE STORAGE
The original home builder put in very narrow cabinets. The small, narrow cabinets made it difficult for the homeowners to store items. They also said it was important to have a kitchen that works for their children. The new design incorporates an appliance cabinet and wide drawers for storing items. The kids have easy access to snack drawers and lower dish storage for plastic cups and plates. Also, we added two built-in cabinets in the dining room for more storage.
UPDATE THE LAYOUT & STYLE
While the area was large, it didn’t maximize the space or fit their contemporary style. They wanted plenty of counter prep space and enough room for friends and family to gather. We added a large wood island with seating – perfect for hosting parties and family dinners. The space is bright with white shaker cabinetry and subway tile backsplash. Warm touches include satin bronze light fixtures and hardware.
ENHANCE THE FUNCTIONALITY
This Sussex kitchen features a Galley Sink Workstation. Having a sink workstation facing the center of the room allows the homeowners to stay part of the conversation while preparing a meal or cleaning up. Sink workstations are one of the hottest kitchen trends.
HOMEOWNER REVIEW
“We recently completed our kitchen remodel with Kowalske and we can’t say enough good things about our experience. Not only was every member of the team amazing, the work that was done in our kitchen was very high quality. We have recommended Kowalske to all of our friends and plan to use them for our master bath remodel in the future!” – Nicole, homeowner (Houzz Review)

"Kerry completely remodeled my kitchen. He demoed old cabinets and plumbing, knocked out a wall, took out some drywall. He redid all the kitchen electrical and plumbing. New wood cabinets, granite countertops, stone tile backsplash, sink and faucet. Installed 3 new ceiling fans. He ran home theater wiring inside the wall and attic so it would be hidden. I supplied certain fixtures and appliances, and I separately arranged for new flooring, painting, and carpeting for the rest of the house. Total project cost, including TaylorPro's part and everything else, was about $57,000.
I was delighted with Kerry and his crew. They did a high quality job, and kept me informed at all times. Among the four excellent contractors we interviewed, Kerry struck me as highly experienced and confident he would complete the job on time. The work was estimated at 4 weeks; it turned out to take 5 weeks, mainly because the countertop fabricator took longer than expected.
We have shown off the new kitchen to many friends, neighbors, and Facebook friends. They are stunned, it's just sooo beautiful! I get up every morning, turn on the new under cabinet lights, pour my coffee, and smile at the look of the granite.
I had a special request for an island countertop that would slide back and forth. With 350 pounds of granite this is not an easy request. Kerry designed it and built it. At our unveiling we had old ladies moving it back and forth with one finger, yet it locks in place easily.
A major kitchen remodel is an ordeal. You go 3 or 4 weeks with no sink or dishwasher. There's dust everywhere, even with the plastic wall they put up to keep it out. Washing dishes in the bathtub is no fun. But we designated a spare room as a temporary kitchen, and Kerry moved the fridge and microwave in there for us. We had the outdoor grill, so we didn't eat out very much. This is true with everybody, but Kerry kept the dust down to about 3 weeks.
I had many detailed requests that were probably a lot fussier than the average customer. Kerry's crew was on top of every one of them, making sure I was completely satisfied. Jake, Randall, and Kevin, his crew, accommodated my every request.
The cabinets are subbed out to Kitchen Emporium, who provided a high quality result, and Kerry passed along his deep discount to me. Jerry at KE was also very impressive, redesigning my kitchen layout much better than my original request. Jerry's team, Gil, Abraham, and Cesar were also very attentive to detail and made sure everything was perfect."

This Columbia, Missouri home’s master bathroom was a full gut remodel. Dimensions In Wood’s expert team handled everything including plumbing, electrical, tile work, cabinets, and more!
Electric, Heated Tile Floor
Starting at the bottom, this beautiful bathroom sports electrical radiant, in-floor heating beneath the wood styled non-slip tile. With the style of a hardwood and none of the drawbacks, this tile will always be warm, look beautiful, and be completely waterproof. The tile was also carried up onto the walls of the walk in shower.
Full Tile Low Profile Shower with all the comforts
A low profile Cloud Onyx shower base is very low maintenance and incredibly durable compared to plastic inserts. Running the full length of the wall is an Onyx shelf shower niche for shampoo bottles, soap and more. Inside a new shower system was installed including a shower head, hand sprayer, water controls, an in-shower safety grab bar for accessibility and a fold-down wooden bench seat.
Make-Up Cabinet
On your left upon entering this renovated bathroom a Make-Up Cabinet with seating makes getting ready easy. A full height mirror has light fixtures installed seamlessly for the best lighting possible. Finally, outlets were installed in the cabinets to hide away small appliances.
Every Master Bath needs a Dual Sink Vanity
The dual sink Onyx countertop vanity leaves plenty of space for two to get ready. The durable smooth finish is very easy to clean and will stand up to daily use without complaint. Two new faucets in black match the black hardware adorning Bridgewood factory cabinets.
Robern medicine cabinets were installed in both walls, providing additional mirrors and storage.

This kitchen was outdated with builder grade cabinets and plastic laminate countertops. The bold kitchen flows seamlessly with the remodeled laundry/mudroom and ties beautifully with the newly updated half bath, both designed by Crystal Kitchen + Bath.
Although the configuration remained similar, a few adjustments to the layout and new cabinets with accessories creates a more functional kitchen. A shallow pantry closet was eliminated from the room to gain much needed square footage in the adjacent Laundry/Mudroom. Replacing this closet is a tall pantry cabinet next to the refrigerator, which allows for the refrigerator door to fully swing open now.
The black and white color scheme and marble backsplash tile add a bold new look to this room. Rich hickory wood flooring brings in warmth to the space, while a mixture of finishes on the hardware, lighting and plumbing fixtures adds interest. A new island with a pull-out waste basket allowed the homeowners to get rid of their free- standing trash bin. Additional accessories, such as, spice drawer, roll-out shelves, silverware tray and appliance garage keep things in order. Dinnerware and accessories can be showcased in the illuminated glass front cabinets.

When an old neighbor referred us to a new construction home built in my old stomping grounds I was excited. First, close to home. Second it was the EXACT same floor plan as the last house I built.
We had a local contractor, Curt Schmitz sign on to do the construction and went to work on layout and addressing their wants, needs, and wishes for the space.
Since they had a fireplace upstairs they did not want one int he basement. This gave us the opportunity for a whole wall of built-ins with Smart Source for major storage and display. We also did a bar area that turned out perfectly. The space also had a space room we dedicated to work out space with a barn door.
We did luxury vinyl plank throughout, even in the bathroom, which we have been doing increasingly.

This 250sq.ft. bathroom renovation replaced a 30 year old bathroom with a raised floor at the tub area and plastic shower insert. We leveled the floor and moved all the plumbing to make the space function better and look more aesthetically pleasing. Shower glass door and panels have since been installed. We installed 8x48 wood look porcelain tiles on the floor and throughout the shower area and ceiling. Custom shower niche and corner shower seat along with a full hydrotherapy tub make this a personal spa.

This project started with a smokey 20 year old townhouse. The home received a full repaint including a full Kilz priming. We also replace the carpet, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, hardware, and all interior plastics, steam-cleaned and sealed the tile, and upgraded the bathrooms and kitchen.
