The best way to dry out your shower stall is to blow it dry. The only truly foolproof way to make certain your shower stall is completely dry after every shower is to blow it dry with Airmada, the built-in shower drying system that blasts forced air through a series of Air-jet nozzles integrated into the ceiling of your shower stall. This 88 square foot Montclair bath is the main bathroom for the family. The 6 drawer vanity, built from reclaimed Amish barnwood from Pennsylvania, is stepped back at the sides to allow for more room at the entrance. The floating shelves in the Towel Tower are also from reclaimed wood. The CaesarStone countertop is made from 24% recycled content (crushed glass and mirror). The vintage medicine cabinet was given a fresh coat of paint. The custom tile and marble recessed niche in the bathtub provides plenty of space for the family's stuff. Lighting was improved with the addition of a wet location recessed light in the tub and a pair of wall sconces. White subway tile, accents of muted glass mosaics, Carrara marble basketweave floor tile and the water/sky colored walls and ceiling all contribute to a cheerful and calm brightness. The design is one of four created by an elite group of celebrated designers for DXV's national ad campaign. Faced with the challenge of creating a beautiful space from nothing but an empty stage, Beth and Carolina paired mid-century touches with bursts of colors and organic patterns. The result is glamorous with touches of quirky fun -- the definition of splendid living.

David Reeve Architectural Photography; This early 1910's stucco Cleveland Park house, located in the shadow of National Cathedral, has been transformed though a three-story addition and interior renovation with a modern touch. A sleek kitchen by Bulthaup, sheathed in oak, stainless steel, granite and glass sets the tone for the re-shaped Dining Room and new Family Room. This space spills out onto a screened porch and open deck. Upstairs, new and old come together in the Master Bedroom suite, which incorporates a wood, glass and stone bathroom. Due to its age and condition, the house had to undergo significant repairs and reconstruction, including excavating for a full-height basement, repair and replacement of significant amounts of plaster and trim, and installation of new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. This project was awarded the "Best of Architectural Spaces" by Washington SPACES magazine.

One of the most important things for those of us who like enjoying a hot bath, is the water temperature. As time passes, the water temperature in your bathtub drops down and requires you to constantly be adding hot water to maintain the temperature, which in turn requires large capacity water boilers, wasting water and electricity. Made of state-of-the-art AquateX™ solid surface material, the Aquatica True Ofuro Japanese style bathtub with Tranquility bath heating system is fitted with a recirculation system (just like the traditional Japanese oidaki) and ozone disinfection system. The Tranquility bathtub heating system was designed to eliminate the hot water adding hassle and maintain the water temperature at a constant 104F /40C (41-45C in Europe and other markets). The built-in Tranquility heating system is utilizing a low flow/high-efficiency ultra-quiet pump. Equipped with minimalist control panel, a standard 1.5kW inline water heater (US) or 2kW (Europe and other markets) with ozone disinfection, Bluetooth audio system, and underwater LED сhromotherapy system, the Tranquility system provides the ultimate luxury bathing experience.

The dream for this family was somehow fitting a custom pool, spa, fireplace, larger patio areas, an outdoor kitchen, a large serving bar, formal gardens, and also some grass for the kids to play on all in a very small back yard! It was a challenge but all was accomplished with beautiful results. In fact, this project is featured in the 2009 Fall issue of Luxury Pools Magazine

This lovely little modern farmhouse is located at the base of the foothills in one of Boulder’s most prized neighborhoods. Tucked onto a challenging narrow lot, this inviting and sustainably designed 2400 sf., 4 bedroom home lives much larger than its compact form. The open floor plan and vaulted ceilings of the Great room, kitchen and dining room lead to a beautiful covered back patio and lush, private back yard. These rooms are flooded with natural light and blend a warm Colorado material palette and heavy timber accents with a modern sensibility. A lyrical open-riser steel and wood stair floats above the baby grand in the center of the home and takes you to three bedrooms on the second floor. The Master has a covered balcony with exposed beamwork & warm Beetle-kill pine soffits, framing their million-dollar view of the Flatirons. Its simple and familiar style is a modern twist on a classic farmhouse vernacular. The stone, Hardie board siding and standing seam metal roofing create a resilient and low-maintenance shell. The alley-loaded home has a solar-panel covered garage that was custom designed for the family’s active & athletic lifestyle (aka “lots of toys”). The front yard is a local food & water-wise Master-class, with beautiful rain-chains delivering roof run-off straight to the family garden.

This 1970 Split-Level Ranch home underwent a whole-house remodel in 2006. A Home Performance Audit was done to identify areas of focus to bring the home up to maximum energy efficiency and comfort. A 'Systems Approach' to the design and construction updated the homes HVAC, electrical, & plumbing systems, and focus was on healthy indoor air quality by using materials that do not off-gas toxins. Every choice, from de-construction to use of reclaimed, renewable, and sustainable materials, was made with the Principles of Sustainable Design and Building Green in mind. The result is a lovely home, expressive of the clients' spirit, designed and built to last their lifetime and beyond.
