This beautiful bar cabinet with burnt oak adjustable shelves is part of our Loft Shelving System. Our Loft posts in blackened gunmetal and fully machined brass fittings in our buffed brass finish mount from the top of our cabinet and tie back to the wall to support 8 shelves. Amuneal’s proprietary machined hardware clamps onto the posts so that the shelves can be easily adjusted at any time. The burnt oak shelves are milled in house from solid white oak to a thickness of 1.5” before being hand-finished using the traditional Shou Sugi Ban process of burning the wood. Once completed, the shelves are sealed with a protective coating that keeps that burnt finish from rubbing off. The combination of blackened steel posts, machined and patinated brass hardware and the charred oak shelves make this a stunning and sculptural shelving option for any space. Integrated bronze bottle stops and wine glass holders add detail and purpose. The lower portion of this bar system is a tall credenza in one of Amuneal’s new finishes, cerused chestnut. The credenza storage highlights the system’s flexibility with drawers, cabinets and glass fronted doors, all with Amuneal fully machined and full width drawer pulls. Behind the glass doors, are a series of pull-out wine trays, carved from solid oak, allowing both display and storage in this unit. This unit is fabricated in our Philadelphia-based furniture studio and can be customized with different metal and wood finishes as well as different shelf widths, sizes and configurations.

Using the home’s Victorian architecture and existing mill-work as inspiration we restored an antique home to its vintage roots. The many-times remodeled kitchen was desperately in need of a unifying theme so we used Pavilion Raised cabinetry in a cottage finish to bring back a bygone era. The homeowner purchased Elmira Stove Works antique style appliances, reclaimed wood for the bar counter, and rustic (grayed brick) flooring. Victorian period appropriate inset cabinetry is hand distressed for a ‘lived-in’ look. The owners are avid antique collectors of unique Americana freestanding pieces and accessories which add a wealth of playful accents, while at the same time, are useful items for the cook. Together these details create a kitchen that fits comfortably in this classic home.
The island features a Special Cottage Russian Olive finish with bead board paneling, turned posts, curved valances, a farmhouse style sink, paneled dishwasher and, finally, a unique combination cabinet with double trash facing the front and a shallow cabinet with wire mesh door facing out the side. The inset doorstyle called for combination cabinets blending such items as a base corner turn-out cabinet with drawers and then a base pull-out pantry. We included wicker baskets, fine-line drawer inserts, a dish rack and wall storage with faux cubby drawers (the drawers are full width with multiple drawerheads). Note also the eyebrow pediment, pull-out pantry and the hide-away doors on the ‘appliance wall’.

Here's what our clients from this project had to say:
We LOVE coming home to our newly remodeled and beautiful 41 West designed and built home! It was such a pleasure working with BJ Barone and especially Paul Widhalm and the entire 41 West team. Everyone in the organization is incredibly professional and extremely responsive. Personal service and strong attention to the client and details are hallmarks of the 41 West construction experience. Paul was with us every step of the way as was Ed Jordon (Gary David Designs), a 41 West highly recommended designer. When we were looking to build our dream home, we needed a builder who listened and understood how to bring our ideas and dreams to life. They succeeded this with the utmost honesty, integrity and quality!
41 West has exceeded our expectations every step of the way, and we have been overwhelmingly impressed in all aspects of the project. It has been an absolute pleasure working with such devoted, conscientious, professionals with expertise in their specific fields. Paul sets the tone for excellence and this level of dedication carries through the project. We so appreciated their commitment to perfection...So much so that we also hired them for two more remodeling projects.
We love our home and would highly recommend 41 West to anyone considering building or remodeling a home.

Located right off the Primary bedroom – this bathroom is located in the far corners of the house. It should be used as a retreat, to rejuvenate and recharge – exactly what our homeowners asked for. We came alongside our client – listening to the pain points and hearing the need and desire for a functional, calming retreat, a drastic change from the disjointed, previous space with exposed pipes from a previous renovation. We worked very closely through the design and materials selections phase, hand selecting the marble tile on the feature wall, sourcing luxe gold finishes and suggesting creative solutions (like the shower’s linear drain and the hidden niche on the inside of the shower’s knee wall). The Maax Tosca soaker tub is a main feature and our client's #1 request. Add the Toto Nexus bidet toilet and a custom double vanity with a countertop tower for added storage, this luxury retreat is a must for busy, working parents.

This project was designed to accommodate the client’s wish to have a traditional and functional barn that could also serve as a backdrop for social and corporate functions. Several years after it’s completion, this has become just the case as the clients routinely host everything from fundraisers to cooking demonstrations to political functions in the barn and outdoor spaces. In addition to the barn, Axial Arts designed an indoor arena, cattle & hay barn, and a professional grade equipment workshop with living quarters above it. The indoor arena includes a 100′ x 200′ riding arena as well as a side space that includes bleacher space for clinics and several open rail stalls. The hay & cattle barn is split level with 3 bays on the top level that accommodates tractors and front loaders as well as a significant tonnage of hay. The lower level opens to grade below with cattle pens and equipment for breeding and calving. The cattle handling systems and stocks both outside and inside were designed by Temple Grandin- renowned bestselling author, autism activist, and consultant to the livestock industry on animal behavior. This project was recently featured in Cowboy & Indians Magazine. As the case with most of our projects, Axial Arts received this commission after being recommended by a past client.

This breezeway corner shows off clean trim work and a tight finish. We set a stained wood post with chunky base and cap blocks, then tied it into a beefy beam overhead. White board and batten walls keep it bright. You can also see the gutter and downspout dropping into a drain, plus the multi tone paver floor. This custom basement workshop and secure storage room is part of Project Post Oak, a thoughtfully designed basement renovation in Marietta, Georgia that prioritizes function, organization, and durability. The space features custom cabinetry, integrated work surfaces, and wall mounted storage designed for hands on projects and everyday use. A built in workbench with dedicated tool organization creates an efficient environment for hobbies, maintenance, or creative work.
The room also includes a concealed secure storage solution seamlessly integrated into the millwork, offering discreet protection while maintaining a cohesive design aesthetic. Dark finishes, warm wood accents, and purpose driven lighting elevate the space beyond a traditional utility room, making it a functional extension of the home’s overall design.
This project highlights how a custom basement renovation can accommodate specialized needs without sacrificing visual continuity or performance.

As a huge supporter of our veteran’s, JFF Design Architects is thrilled to have the opportunity serve one of our local American Legion facilities. Ironically, I worked on this very building at the beginning of my career, some 35 years ago.
We drew inspiration and reference from Maya Lin's 1982 amazing design for the National Vietnam War Memorial. JFF Design Architects & Planners put together a conceptual redesign for the American Legion Post #156, which pays homage to its members, many of whom are from this generation of veterans and their guests. This 2,200 SF ground floor space was in dire need of renovation from the original late 1970’s motif including the bar, lounge and game room adorned with dark brown paneling. As the design unfolded, we dissolved these three separate programs into one large room that can be divided as the use changes. The bar was relocated to the west end offering a better view and servicing to the centralized lounge. The game room remains in the original location but can be combined with the lounge space with the use a retractable wall for larger functions. In the closed position, it offers the space for gaming tournaments such as darts and pool.
References to the Vietnam Memorial can be found within the design of the bar and a 125 degree angle accent tile design in the flooring. Construction has already begun and Post #156 is looking forward to the reopening for members and guests.

The homeowner was so happy with her custom cabinets she had all the craftsmen who worked on them sign the inside of one of her doors!

When it comes to luxury outdoor living, it’s not just about what you see, it’s about what works silently to protect your investment. Azenco’s patented internal gutter and drainage system is a perfect example of invisible engineering that makes a world of difference.
What you’re looking at in this image is more than a sleek stainless steel outlet. It’s the endpoint of a fully integrated solution that channels rainwater from the louvers through internal beams, down the posts, and safely away from your patio. No messy external gutters. No exposed PVC pipes. Just clean lines and flawless performance.
Made from marine-grade aluminum and fitted with stainless steel outlets, the system is rust-resistant, freeze-proof, and virtually maintenance-free. This thoughtful innovation separates Azenco from lower-tier pergola manufacturers who often overlook these essentials leading to flooding, foundation erosion, and mold issues over time.
By investing in a system designed with this level of detail, you’re not just choosing aesthetics you’re choosing smart, long-lasting functionality.
