The objective was to create a warm neutral space to later customize to a specific colour palate/preference of the end user for this new construction home being built to sell. A high-end contemporary feel was requested to attract buyers in the area. An impressive kitchen that exuded high class and made an impact on guests as they entered the home, without being overbearing. The space offers an appealing open floorplan conducive to entertaining with indoor-outdoor flow. Due to the spec nature of this house, the home had to remain appealing to the builder, while keeping a broad audience of potential buyers in mind. The challenge lay in creating a unique look, with visually interesting materials and finishes, while not being so unique that potential owners couldn’t envision making it their own. The focus on key elements elevates the look, while other features blend and offer support to these striking components. As the home was built for sale, profitability was important; materials were sourced at best value, while retaining high-end appeal. Adaptations to the home’s original design plan improve flow and usability within the kitchen-greatroom. The client desired a rich dark finish. House hunting for the perfect home is never easy. Our recent clients decided to make the search a bit easier by enlisting the help of Sharer Design Group to help locate the best “canvas” for their new home. After narrowing down their list, our designers visited several prospective homes to determine each property’s potential for our clients’ design vision. Once the home was selected, the Sharer Design Group team began the task of turning the canvas into art. The entire home was transformed from top to bottom into a modern, updated space that met the vision and needs of our clients. The kitchen was updated using custom Sharer Cabinetry with perimeter cabinets painted a custom grey-beige color. The enlarged center island, in a contrasting dark paint color, was designed to allow for additional seating. Gray Quartz countertops, a glass subway tile backsplash and a stainless steel hood and appliances finish the cool, transitional feel of the room. The powder room features a unique custom Sharer Cabinetry floating vanity in a dark paint with a granite countertop and vessel sink. Sharer Cabinetry was also used in the laundry room to help maximize storage options, along with the addition of a large broom closet. New wood flooring and carpet was installed throughout the entire home to finish off the dramatic transformation. While finding the perfect home isn’t easy, our clients were able to create the dream home they envisioned, with a little help from Sharer Design Group.

The clients are original owners of their contemporary home built in the early 80's'. Their master bath was inefficient with an oversized under-utilized tub with steps taking up 1/3 of the space and tall walls separating the vanity area from the enclosed shower, blocking potential views of the wooded lot. The new design maintained the original 8'x15' space with 10' ceilings. Interior walls were removed, a 54" corner whirlpool tub was installed adjacent to a 36" vanity and new windows with transoms replaced old drafty ones. Extreme make over on this luxury Master bathroom. A new curbless walk-in shower was built with large format tile and Lucente Lido circle tile by Emser. Multiple shower heads were added to create a spa like experience. A large drop in tub was added just outside the shower. The floor was given an upgrade with radiant heating by Warm up. Our design for the powder room centered around our love of the original mirrored wall behind the vanity. The mirror had water damage along the bottom and a the cabinets were too angled and without the same potential as the mirrors. We replaced the cabinets, flooring and pendant lighting. Like many of our clients, when we met this homeowner, she was unsure how long she'd be staying in this house. Stay or sell, she knew she wanted to update the kitchen and bath for herself, and needed to for resale; and she knew she needed SYI to handle the whole remodel, conception to construction oversight. So, SYI designed to her taste—a clean if traditional look—but with an eye to creating spaces that would have a general appeal for potential buyers. The bathroom thus went all white—except for the client's favorite blue on the walls. The great new layout and layered lighting will appeal no matter the aesthetics of the next owner; but the client chose the marble inlay and extra storage for herself.
