Proof positive that a small addition makes a powerful impact! This kitchen went from a u-shaped footprint, cherry cabinets and heavy bulkheads to light, bright, open and modern. Traditional styling with white Shaker cabinets and a nice, neutral pop of color in the green island. In addition to the spacious new kitchen, the addition houses a new mudroom space with bench and storage, a dry bar and a new deck.

This powder room is bold through and through. Painted the same throughout in the same shade of blue, the vanity, walls, paneling, ceiling, and door create a bold and unique room. A classic take on a monotone palette in a small space.

This 1950s home was sporting elements of the original kitchen and the dark space was not meeting our client’s needs. The original kitchen didn’t have much to offer in the way of functionality, so our first order of business was to create a design that would exponentially increase the usability of the kitchen. We brought in functional cabinetry, introduced uninterrupted work surfaces, and added plenty of lighting to brighten up their kitchen. They also wanted to open the new kitchen to the living room and create space for a larger dining table, so we started by removing the existing cabinetry that was visually cut the living space in two and minimized the power of the dramatic vaulted ceiling. We also extended the wood flooring into the kitchen as well to create seamless transitions between spaces. We fell in love with the idea of a two-toned cabinetry design for this kitchen and ultimately went head over heels for clean white painted base cabinets and a textured wood-look melamine on the uppers. This gave us a crisp backdrop that allowed us to bring is fun forms like the black light fixture over the table and the gorgeous silhouettes on the hardware. We played a lot with directionality in this space. The elongated open shelves and rectangular backsplash tiles give us wonderfully clean horizontal lines, but to balance those out we brought in a vertical grain pattern on the wall cabinets and added long black cabinetry pulls that emphasize the verticality of the space. The clients have a green thumb and wanted to make sure we created a home for their growing plant collection. The open shelving gives us plenty of opportunities for foliage and to showcase fun kitchen accessories. This design feels like home and brings together the clean lines and crisp finishes our clients were looking for.

Windows along the tight city lot are paired with the implied rooms to provide natural light and open wall space for artwork and or family photographs.

In drawer electrical outlet keep grooming tools at hand.
At the touch of a button these motorized shades lift to allow light and close to afford privacy. Top down-bottom up configuration allows for both light and privacy.
The freestanding tub and tub filler are sophisticated and timeless as is the white marble wall tile and herringbone floors.

Feature wall on a corner freestanding bathtub.
A serene master ensuite with modern black hardware, a large corner glass shower. Large format tiles for a clean modern look, contrasted with mini chevron creating subtle texture and pattern. A dark blue vanity for brings a trendy highlight that is not over powering.

THE SETUP
The original primary bathroom was characterized by a disjointed and segmented layout. The shower featured a bulky glass-block enclosure that overwhelmed the space visually. There was a considerable amount of open, unused space, and despite having a his and hers vanity, the arrangement lacked personal space for each user, as they shared the conjoined space between the sinks. The toilet was inconveniently located right by the door, with a half-wall partition meant to provide privacy but instead contributing to a cramped and unbalanced feel. Overall, the bathroom’s layout and design were fragmented, failing to make the most of the available space and lacking adequate storage solutions.
Design objectives:
- Reconfigure the layout to enhance functionality and flow.
- Create an elegant, upscale aesthetic that is light and bright.
- Incorporate specialized storage solutions for female hair care needs.
- Increase overall storage capacity.
- Develop a spa-like shower experience.
- Provide a significant wow factor to the space.
THE REMODEL
Design challenges to be solved:
- Repositioning the toilet to a more suitable location.
- Designing hair care storage solutions without cluttering the elegant space.
- Balancing an upscale, elegant design with a feminine touch in the color palette.
- Increasing the brightness of the room without adding windows.
- Completely replacing the existing shower to create a spa-like experience.
- Planning new storage solutions without adding bulkiness or clutter to the cabinetry.
THE RENEWED SPACE
Design solutions:
Toilet Relocation: Moved the toilet by the window, creating a better overall layout that also opened up two full walls for cabinetry and storage solutions.
Specialized Vanity Storage: The left side of the left vanity is the wife’s. Open shelves facing across the vanity can be used for decorative or daily needs items. Pull-out docking drawers with power outlets and metal basins handle hot hair appliances.
Bright and Elegant Color Scheme: White cabinets, countertops, floors, and shower walls keep the space bright. The just-off-white wall color with a hint of pink adds a feminine touch. Thin wainscoting with white trim offers traditional-leaning elegance.
Layered Lighting Strategy: Ceiling can lights, sconces, lighted mirrors, and toe-kick lighting were installed. Natural light-rated bulbs keep the space bright and natural-feeling.
Spa-Like Shower: An extra-large shower was created using the same floor tile materials for continuity. Equipped with a Kohler Anthem system with a shower head, hand-held, and four body sprays. His and Hers niches for separate body care product storage.
Enhanced Storage Solutions: Added a linen cabinet within the vanity area for efficient storage of towels and bathroom essentials.
This elegant bathroom feels incredibly spacious now. The color palette and lights keep the room bright and cheery. Gold fixtures, the herringbone pattern on the floor, and exquisite trim work add an elegant touch. With the husband and wife having their own vanity wall sections joined at the corner, each user truly has their own space within the space. The clients are very happy with the final result.

A warm minimalist design that embraces the latest solar technology and smart home features- creating the perfect dwelling for a growing family that works from home and enjoys river front living

Islands sits 4 comfortably. Guests/children can sit at island while food is being prepared. Light fixtures can move up and down depending on how much light is needed over the island. A whopping 10'8" in length, it does not over power the kitchen.

This light and bright kitchen is open to the family room and to a beautiful view of the bay. The top row of doors in the upper cabinets are glass with dramatic interior up-lighting provides display space. Lots of drawers provide convenient and accessible storage space. We concealed as many of the appliances as possible with matching cabinet doors, including the Sub-Zero refrigerator and Cove dishwasher. The Wolf induction cooktop is powerful, easy to clean, and blends nicely with the surroundings. The wood floor and contrasting island provide beauty and warmth.

This bathroom was designed for two teenage boys to share.
Note the emphasis on functionality. Each boy can set up shop on his own side of the vanity. Each has an outlet and plenty of cabinet storage. A shared middle drawer has a built-in outlet for keeping razors out of the way while charging. The color palette is soothing but just bold enough.
A pocket door saves space while offering some privacy during busy times.
Consider the utility of the handheld shower head and bench combo – a handy setup for tending to sports injuries or powering through sore mornings after team practice.
This space isn’t devoid of personal touches, though. The hexagon tiles in the shower are subtle but have a very special meaning. You see, this family has a history of participating in the National Spelling Bee contest. The dad went the distance a few decades ago and now both boys compete. The honeycomb motif serves as a daily reminder of the family’s shared passion and the endless possibilities that await when you set an intention and work hard at it.
This bathroom is part of a larger remodel that included a new primary bath, a primary suite closet and a new kitchen.

The island has seating for 4 and includes storage, a microwave and pop-up power stations. Countertops are marble-looking quartz with subtle gold and gray veining.
