This small master bath in a townhouse was completely renovated to improve the layout and produce a sleek, contemporary respite. The clean, spare lines and innovative materials result in a feeling of tranquility. An interior wavevue glass translucent window between the shower and bedroom and in the pocket door creates a sensual feeling of openness. It offers an architecturally interesting connection between the bath and master bedroom, while still allowing for privacy. This Master Suite while being spacious, was poorly planned in the beginning. Master Bathroom and Walk-in Closet were small relative to the Bedroom size. Bathroom, being a maze of turns, offered a poor traffic flow. It only had basic fixtures and was never decorated to look like a living space. Geometry of the Bedroom (long and stretched) allowed to use some of its' space to build two Walk-in Closets while the original walk-in closet space was added to adjacent Bathroom. New Master Bathroom layout has changed dramatically (walls, door, and fixtures moved). The new space was carefully planned for two people using it at once with no sacrifice to the comfort. New shower is huge. It stretches wall-to-wall and has a full length bench with granite top. Frame-less glass enclosure partially sits on the tub platform (it is a drop-in tub). Tiles on the walls and on the floor are of the same collection. Elegant, time-less, neutral - something you would enjoy for years. This selection leaves no boundaries on the decor. Beautiful open shelf vanity cabinet was actually made by the Home Owners! They both were actively involved into the process of creating their new oasis. New Master Suite has two separate Walk-in Closets. Linen closet which used to be a part of the Bathroom, is now accessible from the hallway. Master Bedroom, still big, looks stunning. It reflects taste and life style of the Home Owners and blends in with the overall style of the House. Some of the furniture in the Bedroom was also made by the Home Owners.

We recently had the pleasure of completing a remarkable backyard makeover that presented us with some exciting challenges and opportunities for creativity. Our clients wanted to revamp their backyard, focusing on enhancing functionality and creating a low-maintenance, beautiful outdoor space. One of the main objectives was to expand the usable patio area without the need to tear out and pour new concrete. To achieve this, we carefully considered the existing patio curves, respecting their unique shape and making the entire area look intentionally designed. Additionally, drainage was a crucial concern. We took the initiative to install proper drainage solutions to prevent water pooling and ensure the longevity of the space. Our client, an MMA enthusiast, had a specific request to elevate his training experience. To accommodate this, we designed a raised platform with putting-green turf, providing the ideal spot for his Body Opponent bag while maintaining a clean and mud-free training area. For the plant-loving homeowner, we incorporated beautiful Austin limestone chopped block raised beds with a central irrigation system. This resulted in aesthetically pleasing and low-maintenance raised planters, adding vibrant greenery and a touch of nature to the backyard. We utilized the pallet of paver bricks they already had on hand to create practical hardscape walking pads, connecting different areas of the backyard while seamlessly blending with the design. Despite the challenges, we successfully turned their backyard into a fully functional and inviting outdoor retreat. The space now embraces their passions, meets their desires, and offers a tranquil escape for relaxation and enjoyment.

SITE The house is located in Seawatch, a residential development in Seagrove Beach, FL. It is a long and narrow beachfront lot on the Gulf of Mexico, A 30' high sandy cliff meets with the Gulf shore on the lot’s southern edge. A thick layer of sea grasses protects the dunes that create this cliff, helping to prevent erosion and provide a green platform upon which the house sits. PROJECT Two distinct spaces orchestrate the layout of this house. An insular protected courtyard occupies the center of the composition. In contrast, the beach face is comprised of a Living Area, Master Bedroom and Roof Terrace that unfold to the Gulf. The first floor is accessed by a loggia that runs along side the Courtyard. Two guest bedrooms on the south and east, the Garage to the north and a garden wall to the west line the Courtyard. Entry to the main house is by way of a tight enclosed Entry Hall that opens to the curved wall, which addresses the Gulf. Tall slender slots of glass puncture the massive concrete wall of the Living Area. The second floor consists of the Master Bedroom and Study. The massive south wall in the bedroom is articulated as a long horizontal slot, contrasting the vertical windows below. A two-level roof terrace, partly in shade, partly in the sun tops the house.
