We designed this stunning farmhouse from the ground up selecting all the finishes throughout the home as well as procuring the furniture art and decor.

This 1850s farmhouse in the country outside NY underwent a dramatic makeover! Dark wood molding was painted white, shiplap added to the walls, wheat-colored grasscloth installed, and carpets torn out to make way for natural stone and heart pine flooring. We based the palette on quintessential American colors: red, white, and navy. Rooms that had been dark were filled with light and became the backdrop for cozy fabrics, wool rugs, and a collection of art and curios. Townhouse chandelier. This two-year restoration of an important Philadelphia townhouse was published in Architectural Digest and was awarded two First Prizes from ASID. All new systems were discretely installed throughout the house, preserving and adding new life to the historic interior. Custom furnishings were produced and procured across two continents during the restoration.

The soft spacious seat is procured from top-notch quality material and thus ensures of a comfortable seat and a relaxing feel. The durable base is of high-quality wood with a smooth finishing which is not only strong but appealing. The colored cushion piping is its added feature.

The foyer widely opens onto the living room as well as the dining/kitchen area. A few partition walls were removed during the remodel to promote an airy feel which embodies California Living. The existing wood floors were refinished throughout. The new staircase banister was custom-made. For the entryway, we used as part of the decor the client’s existing console table, lamps and some artwork. We sourced and procured the antique settee and the area rug.

We also custom designed a few furniture pieces and procured all new furnishings, artwork, drapery and decor.

Bedroom - mediterranean bedroom idea

This "After" photo shows the new hinged door on the left corner cabinet. Duplicating the profile of the existing doors was a challenge, but it turned out well. The mitered corners were joined with mortises and loose tenons for extra strength. The hinges are Blum Compact Clip 1-1/2" Overlay with selectable Soft Close, 110-degree opening, and face frame mounting. The knobs were procured by the homeowners.
