Stripped of its original charm with sagging floors and water leaks, this 1900 row house was prime for a full renovation. While the staircase and marble fireplace are original, everything from the white oak flooring, crown, applied, and base moldings, to the archways and brass door hardware is new; yet they all feel original to the house. Other projects included removing soffits and tucking away randomly placed support beams and posts, relocating and expanding the kitchen, renovating each bathroom – and adding a new one, upgrading all the mechanical, electric and plumbing systems, removing a fireplace, and regrading the back patio for proper drainage and added greenery. The project is a perfect study of juxtaposing new and old, classic and modern.

Example of a 1950s beige tile and mosaic tile mosaic tile floor freestanding bathtub design in Los Angeles with flat-panel cabinets, medium tone wood cabinets, a two-piece toilet and white walls

This is the same home as in our summer color featured project but this is how beautiful the same space can look in the "dead" of winter with the correct use of foliage and proper care.

Foyer - large cottage light wood floor and beige floor foyer idea in Salt Lake City with white walls and a black front door

This Brick Walkway project in Lancaster, PA included lifting the existing brick walkway, removing stone dust and excavating for a proper base depth. We then installed a proper stone base and relayed the existing bricks in the similar pattern. Finally we will installed an epoxy based mortar between the brick joints and installed an edge restraint to prevent future separation of the bricks.

Project Details: Located in Central Phoenix on an irrigated acre lot, the design of this newly constructed home embraces the modern farm style. A plant palette of traditional Old Phoenix includes hardy, ornamental varieties which are historically accurate for the neighborhood.

This floating deck was built with two sets of stairs with openings for plants.
Deck was stained/painted brown after it lost the proper amount of moisture.

The Abraham Knowlton House (c. 1725) was nearly demolished to make room for the expansion of a nearby commercial building. Thankfully, this historic home was saved from that fate after surviving a long, drawn out battle. When we began the project, the building was in a lamentable state of disrepair due to long-term neglect. Before we could begin on the restoration and renovation of the house proper, we needed to raise the entire structure in order to repair and fortify the foundation. The design project was substantial, involving the transformation of this historic house into beautiful and yet highly functional condominiums. The final design brought this home back to its original, stately appearance while giving it a new lease on life as a home for multiple families.

Elegant simplicity was the calling card for this project. It's easy to go overboard when designing a landscape, but PEC believes it's better to give everything proper room to reach full blooming potential.

Optimal furniture arrangement was the goal of this project. Properly proportioned furniture and art plus more lighting made the home ready for sale.
