Ready made frames were assembled and, the team set about attaching clusters of spiky green foliage, teamed with softer grasses and leaves. To break up the uniform green, colour boxes of delicate lavender and white were added to the arrangement, resulting in a pleasingly natural looking feature wall. The new wall added a welcome contrast to the dark stone colour theme of the room as well as a little much needed texture. Next to our feature wall was a solid, granite coloured wall with two cut outs which we filled with simple and pretty artificial flower arrangements. Practical and beautiful. ABOUT THIS PROJECT: On a tight timeline from the sale of their beachfront home, the Owner's purchased this premium 4000 sqft penthouse condo on the ocean at Jacksonville Beach with the need to update quickly. FINISH WORK: The couple appreciated the pre-construction planning, drawings and construction which ended on time as promised for their move in date. Good projects are well thought out and reflected in the finished results. THE UPDATE: The flooring is a mix of blond oak engineered planks and Italian travertine in the hallways along with new millwork/baseboards and trims. . As avid readers, new custom cabinetry entertainment/ media and bookcases were added and a full house paint-out was made with specialty finishes to the vestibule foyer. They valued their old home's pantry system, so we made a custom version to fit their new space and added lighting, a wine "cellar" with a eurocave and added an exercise room with additional soundproofing for those in residence below. This client had major ice-dam last year due to roof design, so we demo existing dormer and we redid the entire dormer with new roof line, we also relocated all the fixtures inside bathroom. The project was performed in 5 weeks as promised to client.

For Decorations Lucullus it’s always about listening to the client, but when the project is a historical property, it is about listening carefully to the spirit of the rooms as well. All style is part alchemy, a bit of conjuring and nerves of steel to accept what is honestly appropriate. These lovely old rooms had lived a very grand past. Miraculously the owner was open to the challenge of trying, just for fun, to see if that past could be recaptured without compromising present-day comforts. We all learned in the process that the old can be as luxuriously commodious as anything the “modern” can promise.
