By redesigning the island and reducing its scale, these new homeowners are now able to fit a proper dining set and enjoy family dinner time. The walls were painted in greige, which shows well at any time of the day/night. We did not want the island to be the focus of attention and decided for an all-white design. However, we chose black granite for the rest of the counters to add variety without cluttering the eye. The curtain rods were placed higher and outside the door frame to make the door look wider and to match the height of the curtains in the living room. A wood buffet table was chosen to add variety to the overall feeling of this space.

This kitchen is magical. The magic is in the white fresh combinations. These are custom cabinets from Dutch Made Cabinetry. Inset construction with a flat paneled door and five piece drawer heads. This really dresses up all these functional banks of drawers. There is a height change in this challenging kitchen but hard to notice with your eyes on the beautiful hood custom made by Moderaire. This island is a perfect size for entertaining or everyday with the kids. Note the kitchen table inside the kitchen proper, They all work together like magic! With a listing price of just under $4 million, this gorgeous row home located near the Convention Center in Washington DC required a very specific look to attract the proper buyer. The home has been completely remodeled in a modern style with bamboo flooring and bamboo kitchen cabinetry so the furnishings and decor needed to be complimentary. Typically, transitional furnishings are used in staging across the board, however, for this property we wanted an urban loft, industrial look with heavy elements of reclaimed wood to create a city, hotel luxe style. As with all DC properties, this one is long and narrow but is completely open concept on each level, so continuity in color and design selections was critical. Reception & Corridor Details The reception and corridor spaces were treated with deep navy blue paint — bold, sophisticated, and unexpected in a commercial setting. A large abstract landscape painting in warm blues, blush, and gold hangs in a gilded frame against the navy wall, making an immediate statement. A brass and lucite table lamp sits on a floating brass-trimmed shelf alongside a sculptural art object, creating a vignette that communicates creativity and intentionality from the moment clients arrive. The result is a professional environment that communicates confidence, taste, and care — one that clients will remember long after their visit, and one that staff will genuinely enjoy working in every day.

Our mission was to completely update and transform their huge house into a cozy, welcoming and warm home of their own. “When we moved in, it was such a novelty to live in a proper house. But it still felt like the in-law’s home,” our clients told us. “Our dream was to make it feel like our home.” Our transformation skills were put to the test when we created the host-worthy kitchen space (complete with a barista bar!) that would double as the heart of their home and a place to make memories with their friends and family. We upgraded and updated their dark and uninviting family room with fresh furnishings, flooring and lighting and turned those beautiful exposed beams into a feature point of the space. The end result was a flow of modern, welcoming and authentic spaces that finally felt like home. And, yep … the invite was officially sent out! Our clients had an eclectic style rich in history, culture and a lifetime of adventures. We wanted to highlight these stories in their home and give their memorabilia places to be seen and appreciated. The at-home office was crafted to blend subtle elegance with a calming, casual atmosphere that would make it easy for our clients to enjoy spending time in the space (without it feeling like they were working!) We carefully selected a pop of color as the feature wall in the primary suite and installed a gorgeous shiplap ledge wall for our clients to display their meaningful art and memorabilia. Then, we carried the theme all the way into the ensuite to create a retreat that felt complete.

Our client requested a dining room that could be both grand and inviting. Our solution to this was to add comfortable seating along with rustic finishes and organic elements and shapes to soften the lines of the space. The entryway is very open, with neutral colors, a lot of natural light comes proper out the window, door with bright color makes a very inviting and warm feeling.

Is your intake vent the first thing you notice when you walk into your foyer? Since you can't cover it with furniture (to allow proper air flow) for solution #10: we placed a console with a lower shelf, this allows accessories which help detract the eye. Large abstract art adds the cheerful touch this homeowner requested, it's allows the more contemporary feeling they preferred, next to the traditional mahogany dining room furniture in the adjacent room. This foyer is 9'3" x 17' x two stories tall, so this 64" painting was as a great size!

This custom wine cellar CA posed a challenge for our wine cellar builders. The floor and ceiling were not even, and so extra effort was required to ensure that the wine racks, flooring and the like were properly fitted. As you can see, the builders were successful in their endeavor.
