After four years of searching for the perfect spot, this avid golfer stumbled upon a unique solution - Azenco's R-Blade adjustable louvered roof pergola! This innovative structure was designed to provide both protection and accessibility for a high-tech golf simulator within an outdoor environment. It is also much more cost effective than renovating existing structures or building home additions costing upwards of $500K.

While we've been trained to see trees as fire dangers, there are places in which they can serve to protect our homes. This line of trees is at a defensible distance from the home's roof. It serves as a first line of defense to "catch" flying embers before they can reach the roof. Inspiration for a patio remodel in Chicago

Several steps were taken to minimize the risk of the deck igniting. Embers like to collect under decks where they can use collected leaf litter as fuel to gain enough heat to burn wood. We prevent that by sealing off the under-side of the deck with concrete hardy board. Next, two layers of irrigated and compost-mulched native, hydration-holding foliage defends the deck from embers. West Seattle offers great views to Puget Sound and this house is no exception. It almost felt like we were in the water from the second and third floor. The bamboo floors were getting a tremendous amount of fading and the air conditioning was having a difficult time keeping up with the heat. We installed 3M Prestige 50 to keep the view and solve the problems from the sun.

This outdoor koi pond was set up for yoga/meditation. The use of architectural landscape components allowed us to seamlessly blend background music into the scenery. For example, what looks like rocks are really high fidelity speakers.
