Challenge: Maximize impact and usability in a compact space Solved: Whether it’s the custom Cerulean-, Prussian- and Cobalt-blue tile feature or the pool’s unique 4-inch-thick acrylic end-wall that provides a full underwater panorama of the pool for those sitting in the fire pit—every detail is meticulously orchestrated, every functional element masterfully arranged. The smartphone-controlled pergola louvers, accent lighting, and spare, strategic plantings make this backyard magazine photo-feature worthy. The whole is truly greater than the sum of its parts.

"An entry to a space where traditions are made and loved ones gather to share their life experiences." We designed this space for a family that desired a beautiful dining room to complete their home decor. The rustic dining table reveals their casual warmth and at the same time the double crystal chandeliers uncover their refined taste for a touch of elegance. The walls are adorned in tradition with the light creamy wall covering while the deep accents in the artwork and accessories keep the eye engaged in a place of comfort. Custom designed by Hartley and Hill Design. All materials and furnishings in this space are available through Hartley and Hill Design. www.hartleyandhilldesign.com 888-639-0639

This project was such a joy to work on! The Georgian Colonial was home to a young family, whose transitional taste aligned well with their love of neutral palettes with pops of saturated color. See the beautiful transformation! Photography by David Bader
