My client had recently purchased this new house. There was some landscaping that had been done which she wanted to keep. My client has strong preferences for colors and kinds of plants and we have worked closely together to make sure to give her plants that she likes that will do well on her property. When our client purchased his mother’s home, the house he grew up in, he knew it was time to update while incorporating his preferred contemporary style. Enter remodeling specialists, Renovisions, who were hired to customize his new look. The main challenge came with creating a more open floor plan. The kitchen was part of one large room, so making this new space unique and awe-inspiring while differentiating from the surrounding dining room was the goal in mind. Renovisions accomplished this goal by first removing the walls between the dining room and kitchen to open up the space The idea was to draw your eye into the room with some interesting elements such as a 2-tier island, a functional and creative pull-out storage cabinet, sleek looking stainless steel GE appliances and glass mosaic tiles with stunning stainless steel backsplash in a Harlequin pattern. Cement colored quartz countertops in a suede finish and 12” x 24” larger format textured porcelain floor tile in a varied pattern completed the modern look. Contemporary designs boast simplicity by focusing on clean lines and an uncluttered look. This is exactly what our client wanted and the contemporary styled frameless cherry cabinetry with a medium dark stain infused a masculine vibe.

Since the completion of the home our company has maintained this property. Originally built by a local builder as a speculation home, it was purchased by two busy professionals. Why is this important? Let's just say the clients are particular and like it when things aren't just so. Both have high level careers, travel often and expect their landscape to be pristine. Year after year our company rises to this challenge. When originally installed, the builder wanted larger plant material to provide a full and mature look. The continued growth provides a pruning challenge, especially when the client prefers a clean, neat and "compact" landscape. We continually monitor growth and hand prune accordingly, including yearly winter pruning. The backyard is particularly difficult due to the shade, moisture run-off from neighboring properties. The turf requires constant monitoring and adjustment to the irrigation system. The trees create a mess requiring clean up along with yearly power washing of the stone. While the challenges are many, the fine maintenance has led to happy clients and numerous referrals.

The clients had downsized and purchased a 1960's style home requiring a kitchen remodel. She preferred an eat in area by the window. He envisioned a separate eating area, though he still wanted to enjoy the view which the window provided. The window was transformed with reduced depth countertops providing a relaxing space for the homeowners to enjoy the view while having their morning coffee.

My clients purchased this existing home and were never happy with the dental molding throughout the house. With a preference for a sleek, modern look, replacing the traditional white bookcases adorned with flutes and rosettes was the number one change to be made. The open shelves had become a clutter magnet, when what this couple really needed was more storage for clothing and linens. Since the wet bar was never used, they also wanted this replaced with cabinetry. What I noticed immediately in the space, and was anxious to change, was the soffit and cove built around the room. Yes, it was used to house recessed can lighting, but it also made the ceilings seem lower.
