This picture is of a built in buffet storage cabinet, known as a butler's pantry back in the days when this home was built. It serves as a great place to store the batteries, flashlights, tape, ruler etc. and always know where they are.

Blending a modern sensibility with traditional architecture, this garden features a front yard meadow with native grasses (Carex praecracilis) and wildflowers. Poured-in-place concrete pavers in a meandering pattern slow the approach from the sidewalk to the entry. The modest backyard has been maximized for entertaining with outdoor dining and seating areas. Native plants, herbs, and edibles share the back garden beds, and a raised pond brings the garden to life.

Our design concept for this new construction was to work closely with the architect and harmonize the architectural elements with the interior design. The goal was to give our client a simple arts & crafts influenced interior, while working with environmentally friendly products and materials. Architect: Matthias J. We decided on a retro look for our new kitchen with lots of display shelving, happy colors, laminate counters (no cracking!), a chubby old stove, period details and “linoleum” flooring.
