Newly built vegetable garden. Beds are 4 inch cedar, pathways are river stone, contained on the perimeter by steel edging. Critterfence deters rabbits without obscuring the architecture of the garden. In the rear, support posts contain raspberries.

Beans, berries and tomatoes grow in raised beds in this historic Pennsylvania farmhouse garden. Akoris Garden Tuteurs support the edibles and anchor the garden.

Organic soil amendments are cultivated into the soil. Since their nutrients are released by soil microbes, they need to be mixed into the soil so they're in contact with the soil food web. After the transformation took place, about 6 months later. The yard was divided into different rooms for different uses. Raised redwood planter boxes were used for veggies and herbs to grow. A vine is being trained to go over the arbor and Callistemon 'Slim' will fill in the "wall" to divide the space. The arbor ushers you into the backyard entertaining area with a sail cloth "ceiling" to block the harsh sun.

This raised vegetable garden was created with railroad ties. A drip irrigation system was also installed that was easy to use and adjust based on the plant selections to be grown. A decomposed granite pathway was installed around the garden and a planter bed was installed behind the garden to grow up and provide color and screening to the adjacent property.
