Upon entering the penthouse the light and dark contrast continues. The exposed ceiling structure is stained to mimic the 1st floor's "tarred" ceiling. The reclaimed fir plank floor is painted a light vanilla cream. And, the hand plastered concrete fireplace is the visual anchor that all the rooms radiate off of. An old dark farmhouse basement gets a facelift with smooth plaster walls and ceiling. Plenty of recessed and accent lighting keeps the space bright. 12 vintage prints from Hawaii were framed and grouped as a statement wall. Simple cotton duck cloth covers the sofa and ottoman. Ceramic "wood" plank floor tile keeps the space kid and dog paw friendly! The wall color is Upper West Side by Benjamin Moore Color Stories Collection. CSP-70.

Clients' first home and there forever home with a family of four and in laws close, this home needed to be able to grow with the family. This most recent growth included a few home additions including the kids bathrooms (on suite) added on to the East end, the two original bathrooms were converted into one larger hall bath, the kitchen wall was blown out, entrying into a complete 22'x22' great room addition with a mudroom and half bath leading to the garage and the final addition a third car garage. This space is transitional and classic to last the test of time.
