The challenge in this project was to integrate the mid-60's architecture (Frank Lloyd Wright with a dash of Hollywood Regency) with a working kitchen open to the great room and then the patio. A pair of custom cabinets provide the linchpin to this project.
Features: olive limestone flooring, antique Oushak rugs, soapstone counters and backsplash, large single bowl KWC steel sink and KWC faucet, Miele cooktops, microwave housing, cookbook storage and working pantry with spice storage.

This residence served to satisfy the Owner’s complex needs to relocate in the region efficiently, economically and expeditiously to a three bedroom, two bath residence. The site was purchased in a challenging real estate market with an existing, converted “A” frame camp home. The design was bound to the tight footprint by pre-existing wetland and zoning constraints. The existing 886 sqft foundation was repaired and reused with only a 150 sqft of allowable increase in footprint.

Speaker cloth door coverings allow any speaker to appear elegant even it it's aesthetically challenged in real life. Black was choice for this collaboration with Valet, but lighter colors of grille cloth will create a totally different looks with lighter cabinetry materials.

An archetypal Vancouver garden distinct to the rain rich areas of coastal B.C. Large Cedars, enormous Rhododendrons and Camellias, whose blooms weave exotically through evergreen masses, create an ethereal quality in this garden. The client wanted to reveal this jewel like quality while eking out a little more people space.
The challenge was in retaining the existing trees and large broadleaf evergreens while significantly re-organizing the grades in a design concept that established a strong relationship between the house and garden.
A real lack of light was a challenge for growing. Green became a colour of many faces, amplified by contrasting textures and rays of sun through branches. A thoughtful eye and a smart pruning program is required for the ongoing maintenance of this garden. The reward is literally breathtaking - a magical place where the line between worlds is blurred.

The biggest challenge with landscaping is find plants the deer won't devour. If if they don't like the plant, they'll eat a good portion just to be sure.

This beautiful custom build was based off of a similar floor plan that we had built. We modified the plan slightly, and mirror reversed. We then added an additional garage to suite the needs of the client. We had several custom designs on the interior of this home from the lighted powered room vanity, extensive kitchen island, to the custom design tile work in the master bath shower. The exterior was also a custom design challenge that incorporated real stone with brick to give the exterior a unique look.

A very large home can feel extremely cold, especially with an abundance of marble. Staged By Design took on the challenge of warming up this gorgeous space, adding in more contemporary furniture and accessories and focusing on texture and pattern. The result was a warm and inviting home perfect for entertaining.

The Original kitchen in this 1970’s raised ranch was bright an open yet left the dining room closed off from the home and wasn’t large enough for the island that Joe and his wife would have liked. Joe and Tim from THI Co. had developed a plan relocate the kitchen to one exterior wall and allow for an island that would function for both seating and entertaining. The challenge we faced was the original windows of the kitchen had to completely go. Relying solely on the open floor plan for natural light, Tim opened up the Dining room wall, removed the dividing half wall to the family room and widened doorways to the great room leading from the kitchen and dining room. The removal of the soffits and consistent wood flooring help tie together the adjacent rooms. The plan was for simple clean lines with subtle detail brought out in the trim on the cabinetry and custom 10ft island back panel. Finding a set of appliances was the next task. The kitchen was designed with the intention of being used. The Whirlpool convection wall ovens give the kitchen 3 possible functioning ovens with along with the Samsung 5 burner range. The end result is a simple elegant design that has all the functionality of galley kitchen yet the feel of an open kitchen with twice the square footage.

Our lovely Gamma doorstyle, in satin laminate, breathes elegance and sophistication. Gamma is the answer to a real design challenge: a kitchen without handles. Characterized by a long channel under the countertop, Gamma is available in almost any door finish and allows for countertops with a 6mm visible edge.

Space was a major challenge in this kitchen. We solved it by the following design selections:
*The area between the sink and the range was increased to give the homeowner more usable counter top space.
* A microwave drawer was selected so as not to take valuable kitchen real estate, either for it to sit on the counter or built into an upper cabinet.

Real Estate Agents are often the most challenging clients to satisfy when it comes to their personal home renovations. They have usually worked with a variety of different contractors and understand the business, through and through. By the time we were finished with this country-style home renovation, this Real Estate professional began recommending Versa exclusively... for the past three years in a row! The home owner was looking for a unique solution for their large family, which includes six children. We opened up the space with the following renovations:
Addition of a long, family kitchen Island
Implementation of barn floors throughout
Accommodation for and Installation of high-end double fridge

Location, location, location! Isn’t that what all of our real-estate friends and colleagues are always telling us? Our clients made a wise choice when purchasing this beautifully located ocean front property nestled in the dunes of Palm Beach, but they were presented with a challenge: how to take this luxury townhouse from dark and dated to a chic easy breezy dream home that reflects is naturally gorgeous sun and sand dunes surroundings as well as our clients laid back personalities.
Built in 1981, this dream home’s post-modern style with dark wood architectural features, cold concrete structure, and harsh lighting felt out of step by todays standards. Our solution: open the staircase and switch out the wood paneled banister for clear glass, exposing its grand design and allowing for amazing and unobscured views of the property’s outdoor spaces as well as the home’s common areas, permitting its large loft space to shine.
Bedrooms were treated to neutral color-schemes inspired by the Palm Beach dunes that surround this oceanfront home. An impressive pallet of textures and materials were chosen, and juxtapositions of lux linens and natural textiles like grass wall coverings and a large arrangement of sculptural branches brings the outside, in. Big and bold custom metal sculptures were installed in the primary bedroom along with hand blown glass light fixtures, adding that touch of glam that we are known for.
The private courtyard revamp is above and beyond anything you will see in Palm Beach. Playful and luxurious, it features a koi pond, a two story art installation and a dramatic custom stone waterfall. Its seating area makes great use of this homes original design by softening the heavy overhang with ceiling coverings in Peaky Cyprus and covering the walls with grass, creating a very cool and cozy space to relax and unwind. The entire courtyard is expertly illuminated by artistic lighting that makes every corner a sparkling treat for the eyes.
We had fun with this ambitious project and we hope your takeaway is to let location be your guide when looking for your dream home, because anything is possible in design but great surroundings are rare treasures that must be found and cherished.

When it came to designing my own kitchen it was a real challenge. It's hard to be objective about your own space. And I wanted a little bit of everything! I settled on colors that were calm and soothing, creamy off white cabinetry, typhoon green granite counters, glass tile backsplash and emtek crystal hardware. The Subzero and Bosch Dishwasher received custom panels. This kitchen is in Full Overlay styling with a simple flat panel door. The decorative elements in the hood and island corbels and legs at the sink give it a little extra flair.
