Black-painted oak treads and handrail, which match the upstairs hardwood flooring, are paired with crisp white risers, establishing a bold foundation for the design, while a custom wrought-iron balustrade brings Old World craftsmanship to the space. Rounded bullnose starting steps on each staircase provide an elegant invitation to ascend, softening the grand scale with graceful curves. The Sasha sectional is beautiful, yet functional all at once. The sectional is available in both right and left facings, and can be ordered in many different leather options. Sasha is covered in a full grain leather, with split grain on the back and sides. The seat backs can be adjusted backwards and forwards for complete custom comfort. Sectional comes with one headrest and reversible tray that can be used as an end table, or flipped over to be a part of the chaise. Removing the dated carpeting and installing wide plank, rough hewed wood flooring stained in an expresso finish instantly updated, brightened and transformed the entire interior of this home. The stair rails were also changed to match the flooring, and the iron balusters with their subtle detailing and rustic patina changed the interior design scheme from outdated traditional to uniquely old world rustic.

Staircase - mid-sized traditional wooden straight wood railing staircase idea in New York with painted risers

Originally, the exterior of the Napa ranch residence was a standard knocked down stucco finish. We covered over the entire exterior of the house with a natural plaster product that has been made in Italy for centuries, known as Rialto or Vero. This product is a combination of slaked lime mixed with 60% reconstituted crushed marble dust. Quarried from the legendary Carrara marble mines. The finish itself is a vertically combed striated texture embedded into the plaster. While it cures, a transparent group of patinas are applied to the stone-like plaster substance to create a look of an aged villa.

Homeowner had a very tight space which prevented any furniture or other items from getting into the basement. We tore out the existing railing and rebuilt a new oak railing with a removable system - the railing itself is one unit and can be removed and reinstalled with just nine screws. This new system will allow large furniture and other basement play things to be moved up and down the stairs without having to gut the stair railing.
