Pacific Cookie Company is at the heart of Santa Cruz’s downtown landscape. Owned and operated by the Pearson family since the early 80’s this bakery refresh was near and dear to everyone’s hearts. Stripe was brought in to make sure that what was really celebrated about the space, their freshly baked cookies, were still the stars of the show. Design decisions led us to a slightly nostalgic feel of being by the beach, thus bringing in subtle sea foam colored tiles, chunky terrazzo counters, and a timeless penny-round flooring. All we wanted was to create a clean backdrop for this iconic cookie company’s product; but with a subtle Stripe flare. Vintage sourced rolling pins (all seventy two of them) and whisk pendant lights were added in a quiet nod towards PCC making and baking all of their cookies right on site.

Remodeling the house you grew up in comes with challenges of its own. While Emotions, and stress are at an all time high, expenses shouldn’t be. With smart planning, sourcing price efficient materials and creative in-house design, we were able to complete our most budget friendly, full home remodel to date.

With a realistic, well-planned budget, we transformed nearly every space in this home—leaving only the bedrooms untouched. We replaced all existing wood and carpet with updated LVP flooring, including the staircase. The kitchen was reworked to remove an unused desk area and incorporate a functional coffee bar. The fireplace was completely reimagined—removing the dated stone façade and replacing it with a bold plaster finish and custom shelving. We also fully furnished the home, sourcing new sofas, dining tables, rugs, chairs, and lighting. The powder bath was refreshed with a floating vanity, textured wallpaper, and moody lighting.

Inspiration for a large modern master porcelain tile, gray floor, double-sink and vaulted ceiling freestanding bathtub remodel in Philadelphia with recessed-panel cabinets, gray cabinets, a two-piece toilet, gray walls, an undermount sink, quartzite countertops, a hinged shower door, white countertops and a built-in vanity

This compact ensuite guest bathroom is inspired by nature and incorporates a biophilic design. The floors are finished with a wood look plank tile that is continued up the shower wall creating a contrasting feature. The remaining walls are tiled with a smooth glossy white tile and offer a clean and modern feel, brightening up the small space. A floating white vanity with smart storage was sourced to make the most use of the area. The south-facing, high awning window offers direct views of the mature trees on the property and allows the bright morning light to flood the space. The window ledge is styled with fresh herbs including lavender and eucalyptus that release invigorating and refreshing aromas.

A bathroom is the one place in the house where our every day begins and comes to a close. It needs to be an intimate and sensual sanctuary inviting you to relax, refresh, and rejuvenate and this contemporary guest bathroom was designed to exude function, comfort, and sophistication in a tranquil private oasis. Gorgeous thick alpaca 'confetti' fabric by Rosemary Hallgarten adds an unexpected cheeriness to these upcycled office chairs. Originally sourced on the 'free' section, they were stained orangey brown and destined for the landfill. Their redeeming quality: modern square lines, solid oak, solidly built and in solid condition. Just needed a little TLC to get them out of their masculine ways and with a little elbow grease (and a luxury fabric budget), we transformed these gems into a pair of lovely feminine office guest chairs welcoming all who enter this lady's lounge (aka home office). The HON filing cabinet, originally in it's industrial state of grey would not fit into the new 'girle' scheme of the updated office. Instead, we opted to source some graphical vinyl wallpaper and give it a refresh to help it fit in. As well, sourced a vintage onyx piece of stone from an old coffee table and had it squared-off, fit just to size, adding both an organic and luxurious element to the space. The vintage glass and brass, gooseneck flower wall sconce, is the unique piece which has some dedicated wall space to allow it shine in it's own special way.

It takes a special kind of client to embrace the eclectic design style. Eclecticism is an approach to design that combines elements from various periods, styles, and sources. It involves the deliberate mixing and matching of different aesthetics to create a unique and visually interesting space. Eclectic design celebrates the diversity of influences and allows for the expression of personal taste and creativity. The client a window dresser in her former life her own bold ideas right from the start, like the wallpaper for the kitchen splashback. The kitchen used to be in what is now the sitting area and was moved into the former dining space. Creating a large Kitchen with a large bench style table coming off it combines the spaces and allowed for steel tube elements in combination with stainless and timber benchtops. Combining materials adds depth and visual interest. The playful and unexpected elements like the elephant wallpaper in the kitchen create a lively and engaging environment. The swapping of the spaces created an open layout with seamless integration to the adjacent living area. The prominent focal point of this kitchen is the island. All the spaces allowed the client the freedom to experiment and showcase her personal style.
