When full-time Massachusetts residents contemplate building a second home in Telluride, Colorado the question immediately arises; does it make most sense to hire a regionally based Rocky Mountain architect or a sea level architect conveniently located for all of the rigorous collaboration required for successful bespoke home design. Determined to prove the latter true, Siemasko + Verbridge accompanied the potential client as they scoured the undulating Telluride landscape in search of the perfect house site. The selected site’s harmonious balance of untouched meadow rising up to meet the edge of an aspen grove and the opposing 180 degree view of Wilson’s Range spoke to everyone. A plateau just beyond a fork in the meadow provided a natural flatland, requiring little excavation and yet the right amount of upland slope to capture the views. The intrinsic character of the site was only enriched by an elk trail and snake-rail fence. Establishing the expanse of Wilson’s range would be best served by rejecting the notion of selected views, the central sweeping curve of the roof inverts a small saddle in the range with which it is perfectly aligned. The soaring wave of custom windows and the open floor plan make the relatively modest house feel sizable despite its footprint of just under 2,000 square feet. Officially a two bedroom home, the bunk room and loft allow the home to comfortably sleep ten, encouraging large gatherings of family and friends. The home is completely off the grid in response to the unique and fragile qualities of the landscape. Great care was taken to respect the regions vernacular through the use of mostly native materials and a palette derived from the terrain found at 9,820 feet above sea level. MKC Audio Video designed only the audio and video aspects of this home theater system. The front screen is a Screen Innovations Zero Edge Pro with Slate AT ambient light rejecting material. Behind the acoustically transparent screen are the LCR speakers for the front soundstage. Here we used Dali Phantom M-350 in-wall cabinet speakers. Also, in the front lower left wall is a Sonance invisible subwoofer. For the sidewalls, MKC AV installed our custom acoustic wall panels with grey Guilford of Maine fabric. These panels hide the surround speakers as well as the front and rear Atmos height speakers. The side and rear surround speakers are Dali Phantom M-250's and the Atmost speakers are OSD ACE870 speakers. The AVR is a Marantz Cinema 40 with a Sonance DSP-750 sub amp. The projector is a Sony 4K laser XW5000ES. The lighting and seating were purchased by the homeowner and do not represent our standards for quality.

These entire family of interior door models was inspired by the works and ideas of Andrea Palladio, a prolific Italian architect employed by the Republic of Venice in the Sixteenth Century. Rejecting Renaissance and early Baroque methods which were ubiquitous in his time, Palladio took his inspiration from ancient Greek and Roman masterbuilders. Erecting bucolic villas for the Venetian aristocracy was one of his specialties. More often than not he would implement the classical temple front into his design of the facade. The rest of the structure’s configuration often consisted of a centralized block raised on an elevated podium, flanked by lower service wings. The celebrated master’s style has seen several revivals over the years, Thomas Jefferson’s Rotunda at the University of Virginia being a good example. The interior door series named after him would blend into, define, or dominate pretty much any type of decor.

Instead of creating a product with recuperated barn wood, we decided to design the perfect product by using new wood that is usually rejected, to create this high-end product within a production environment. We industrially designed and developed the machine utilized to create this product. We classify the wood to make sure the features and characteristics of the product are present. We have been inspired by the beauty of the marriage between the contemporary trends and the roughness of "barn wood". We created the rough chic for the kitchen. UNIQUE PROPERTIES This product enhances the features and characteristics of wood altered by the seasons. It is textured like barn wood. The beauty of this product lies in the details of a perfectly textured wood and the authenticity of each natural characteristic cleverly revealed such as knots, cracks, spalted wood, grub holes, termite holes and/or natural splinters. This design is available in 2 different model (slab and shaker) and six different colours including natural. This product allows designers to perfectly align the rough and the chic.
