The family already had a kitchen table and chairs they were happy with, so we refurbished them to match the kitchen’s new stain and paint color. Crown molding top the cabinet boxes and extends across the ceiling where they create a coffered ceiling, highlighting the beautiful light fixtures centered on a wood medallion. Columns were custom built to provide separation between the different sections of the kitchen, while also providing structural support. Our master craftsmen kept the original 1925 glass cabinet doors, fitted them with modern hardware, repainted and incorporated them into new cabinet boxes. This client approached us with a request to remodel their home to better accommodate their needs related to a recent amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease–a condition that can lead to various physical challenges, including mobility issues, fatigue, and diffi culty with manual tasks. Recognizing the impact of these challenges on daily living, the client sought our expertise to make their home more accessible and functional. The project involved a signifi cant redesign of their three-story home, including the installation of an elevator to provide seamless access across all fl oors, and a complete remodel of the Primary Bathroom and Bedroom to enhance usability and comfort. This redesign was driven by the objective to support the client’s independence and improve their quality of life. Knowing that the client would receive assistance through the Veteran Affairs Special Adaptive Housing Program, our Team needed to include additional documentation for this project.
