This beautiful Modern Farmhouse plan offers superb curb appeal and lovely possibilities with a bonus room and optional basement foundation. The exterior board and batten siding is accented with wood beams and metal roof accents. The exterior also includes a lovely front covered porch with a cathedral ceiling and an extended portion for sitting and relaxing while greeting guests or enjoying conversations with neighbors.

Light brown custom cedar screen walls provide privacy along the landscaped terrace and compliment the warm hues of the decking and provide the perfect backdrop for the floating wooden bench.

This expansive Victorian had tremendous historic charm but hadn’t seen a kitchen renovation since the 1950s. The homeowners wanted to take advantage of their views of the backyard and raised the roof and pushed the kitchen into the back of the house, where expansive windows could allow southern light into the kitchen all day. A warm historic gray/beige was chosen for the cabinetry, which was contrasted with character oak cabinetry on the appliance wall and bar in a modern chevron detail. Pineapple House designers removed the wall that blocked the view front door to the pool and waterway in the back yard. They were able to place the proper supports and define the foyer hall with paired wooden columns. Armillary Pendant lights in aged iron with frosted glass light the entry.

In the kitchen, tractor seat barstools were sourced (retail) by the client. Another money-saving tactic: The backsplash tile is Heath, but rather than selecting the expensive shapes from the Series 5 collection that our client was drawn to at first, we chose a stock size and shape and created visual interest by installing the tiles in a herringbone pattern. The family room is the hub of the home with two leather sofas, a fireplace, custom built-in shelves for their books and collected objects, and a wall-hung TV for movie watching. The tracery ceiling and glass chandelier continue the repeating geometric and touch of sparkle seen throughout the house. Photo: Eric Roth

Master bedroom with oversized fan and iron canopy bed. White cotton linens, blue and white wool rug, linen upholstered bench and sheer drapery. Nightstands are substituted by large chests with oversized lamps which work well with the oversized scale of the bed and drapery.

This large kitchen had a lot going for it in terms of the large open space and work triangle, however the honey oak cabinets and laminate countertops left a lot to be desired.
The small range was replaced with a large pro-style cooktop. Space from an existing pantry was reworked to allow for the addition of double ovens, refrigerator and butler pantry type storage.
A new larger window was added and relocated to allow for better placement of the sink, and a bar area was redesigned into a more functional and visually pleasing area.
This young family wanted a unique design that was not a “cookie cutter” space. To accomplish this, Klimala designed a large custom hood flanked by large storage cabinets. The hood area is a steel gray repeating the color of the island giving each of those areas equal weight and a sense of balance.
The large island that houses storage and a microwave drawer is topped with a walnut butcher block. The walnut is repeated at the mantle hood and in some shallow shelving for spice storage near the cooktop.
Hardworking gray quartz countertops were chosen for the rest of the space and gray limestone brick adds some texture to the backsplash area. The unique circular glass mosaic tile at the cooktop provides a stunning focal point. Globe shaped pendants repeat the circle theme above the island.
