The client wanted an open community space to replace the closed off kitchen. We removed the walls separating the kitchen and living room to create a large, open, and bright entertaining space.

Bespoke single glazed window replacements from the Mumford & Wood Conservation™ historic box sash range have been installed throughout the three-storey home. Made from the very highest grade engineered timber they are designed to replicate original period windows in replacement projects, down to the very finest detail. Manufactured as single glazed frames, with hand-faced external putty, just as the originals would have been, the replacement windows and doors feature 4mm float glass or a choice of heritage-style glass to lend a more authentic, uneven finish. Each window is bespoke in size and pattern, with a profile choice of Georgian, Gothic, Victorian or Queen Anne ovolo to provide the perfect match.

Stylish brewery owners with airline miles that match George Clooney’s decided to hire Regan Baker Design to transform their beloved Duboce Park second home into an organic modern oasis reflecting their modern aesthetic and sustainable, green conscience lifestyle. From hops to floors, we worked extensively with our design savvy clients to provide a new footprint for their kitchen, dining and living room area, redesigned three bathrooms, reconfigured and designed the master suite, and replaced an existing spiral staircase with a new modern, steel staircase. We collaborated with an architect to expedite the permit process, as well as hired a structural engineer to help with the new loads from removing the stairs and load bearing walls in the kitchen and Master bedroom. We also used LED light fixtures, FSC certified cabinetry and low VOC paint finishes. Regan Baker Design was responsible for the overall schematics, design development, construction documentation, construction administration, as well as the selection and procurement of all fixtures, cabinets, equipment, furniture,and accessories. This tired, unused San Francisco backyard was transformed into a modern, low-maintenance landscape with site-appropriate plantings enhanced by raised planting beds and a lead-free artificial lawn to replace the existing water-thirsty lawn. I created two separate "rooms" to break up the long narrow yard, and specified full range blue stone for the two small patio areas, connected by a curved pattern of rectangular pavers of the same natural stone. The raised concrete rectangular planting beds were incorporated to bring more movement and interest to the landscape along with gravel bed accents alongside. Some of the existing concrete remained, and was stained with a color to compliment the natural stone. These photos were taken over a three year period.
