Living room shows many original features that were lost over time, and reproduced in our restoration. Designs were based on the Greenes' drawings, physical evidence and early photographs. We found the small casement windows in the basement. They provided key dimensions to replace bench and inglenook. Location of original box beams and trim were apparent once we removed canvas wall covering. These were rebuilt in Port Orford cedar by Glen Stewart, primary craftsman for the restoration. Not everything needed to be redesigned. The original millwork was one of the few elements in the house that had real presence, and removing it would have erased part of the home’s identity. So it stayed. Carefully restored. Reproduced where necessary. Color-drenched walls and textured grasscloth pull the room out of the past without competing with it. The contrast is intentional – ornate detail against saturated color, history against something more current. It’s a room that holds attention without relying on newness to do it.

Appearing as though this structure has stood in it's current spot for decades, this amazing pool house was created by Restoring Texas using mostly reclaimed materials harvested from local dilapidated Texas historical structures. Particularly, the siding, columns, doors, windows and many of other elements were salvaged from a Texas Craftsman style sharecropper home built in 1930. The tin was taken from the roofs of an early 1900's Texas barn. Historic signs such as the "Poss Pool Palace" sign bearing the name of its owners are reproduced and personalized by a local artist. Restoring Texas works closely with skilled builders and designers, and of course the home owners, throughout Texas to build these amazing works of art.

This early 19th century house was renovated to incorporate a large wing which allowed for a master bedroom suite, custom kitchen, living room and study. The arched form of the large window and the recessed bay window recall later 19th century American architecture. The original stair was restored. The new railing is composed of antique newels and reproduced balusters. Custom structural columns, adorned with aluminum leaves and tiny light fixtures divide the spaces of the kitchen. Spruce cabinets and dark green granite highlight the kitchen. The cabinets are arranged as pieces of furniture, each serving a particular purpose. The second floor master bedroom opens onto a sleeping porch.

In 1896, a French scientist and Turkish engineer collaborated to create a shining new glass product with a luminous appearance over its entire surface. Winfield’s sparkling glass reproduces this prismatic effect, diffusing the glare of bulbs while scattering a glittering grid of light. The vintage texture of the glass is attractively enhanced by the well-defined details of Winfield’s metalwork. Overall Dimensions: 13"Dia. x 21.75"H
