This now-cheery bedroom suite is the culmination of combining a dark-paneled office, a half-bath, and a butler's pantry. Utilizing aging-in-place design, a full bath and closet were added to provide a restful, welcoming place at home for an individual who now requires special accessibility on the first floor.

Aging In Place design concepts require special products andtechniques. In our latest project, we incorporated textured stone shower floor tile, zero threshold shower entrance, retractable shower seat, wheel under vanity and well placed grab bars.

This kitchen designed for the Junior League of Buffalo 2017 Decorator Showhouse was a full gut of the space. There were plumbing and HVAC pipes in the space that required custom modifications to cabinetry. Part of the hearth has a false back on the cabinet to accommodate some of the pipes. Additionally, the 10’ ceilings required a custom combination of cabinets and crown molding to reach the ceiling. The space contained 4 doorways so the use of angled cabinetry allowed for easier access in and out of the space. The room includes special design features such as the wood hearth to house the ventilation for over the range, custom under cabinet lighting and a wet bar housing a beverage center and an appliance for growing microgreens.

Terrace, stoop and lighting design, plant design and installation and photography by Chris Kolb of Ark Gardens. The clients' property is located in the historic district of Yarmouth Port on Cape Cod in Massachusetts and so required special permits for the design and construction. Chris Kolb used traditional quality materials combined with a craftsman style flare to the shape and movement (figuratively speaking) of the outdoor living space.

We can see the semi-hidden lower terrace. The boulders along the pool edge required a special treatment to integrate them with the pool structure.

Small kitchens are such a challenge, but sometimes those special space dilemmas create the opportunity for an even more optimal solution! The original walls were very thin at 3" in this modern kitchen renovation. You cannot put plumbing in that! So we built out the kitchen wall out in order to run wires and pipes behind the wall. Then we used gem-like green glass mosaic tile to tie it in visually. It's a perfect pairing with Okite's beautiful Frosty Carrara Quartz Countertop and our custom Shaker style island and cabinets in a white satin finish. Stainless steel appliances finish off this urban dream kitchen, like the the Liebherr Refrigerator, but it required a 10 inch clearance to open the door. The answer was to create a great custom pantry next to it. In the end it is a much better use of space! In order to accommodate plumbing on the window side wall, we designed the pantry door to open over the window sill.
