The 12 foot tall ceilings create a loft like feel in a traditional setting. Floor to ceiling windows show off the pool and outdoor covered patio.

This master bedroom feature wall gets a pop of orange colour. The platform bed echoes the high windows at left - peeking out over a raised roof, these extra windows bring natural light right to the bedside. The key design driver for the project was to create a simple but contemporary extension that responded to the existing dramatic topography in the property’s rear garden. The concept was to provide a single elegant form, cantilevering out into the tree canopies and over the landscape. Conceived as a house within the tree canopies the extension is clad in sweet chestnut which enhances the relationship to the surrounding mature trees. Large sliding glass panels link the inside spaces to its unique environment. Internally the design successfully resolves the Client’s brief to provide an open plan and fluid layout, that subtly defines distinct living and dining areas. The scheme was completed in April 2016

Even though the space is bounded by it's 4 walls, we wanted an inviting, entertaining feel. It incorporates the automatic double garbage recycling cabinet, automatic above-the-refrigerator cabinet that both responds to the touch of the cabinet door or a removable remote control. With the LED color changing accent lighting that nests in the 6" angled crown molding; the space is spared for the ceiling and back wall to accentuate and reflect on this beauty.

This residence was originally designed for an artist to function as a painting studio. The north-facing light played a critical factor in selection of the colors.
