A fresh and inventive response to the McMansion, this new 4,000sf speculative development home has been meticulously designed and executed to deliver a tasteful and functional floor plan which reflects modern living.

Stylish brewery owners with airline miles that match George Clooney’s decided to hire Regan Baker Design to transform their beloved Duboce Park second home into an organic modern oasis reflecting their modern aesthetic and sustainable, green conscience lifestyle. From hops to floors, we worked extensively with our design savvy clients to provide a new footprint for their kitchen, dining and living room area, redesigned three bathrooms, reconfigured and designed the master suite, and replaced an existing spiral staircase with a new modern, steel staircase. We collaborated with an architect to expedite the permit process, as well as hired a structural engineer to help with the new loads from removing the stairs and load bearing walls in the kitchen and Master bedroom. We also used LED light fixtures, FSC certified cabinetry and low VOC paint finishes. Regan Baker Design was responsible for the overall schematics, design development, construction documentation, construction administration, as well as the selection and procurement of all fixtures, cabinets, equipment, furniture,and accessories. Opened in 2025, this landmark hotel is located on the Nekajui Papagayo Peninsula in Costa Rica. The architecture and interiors called for a thoughtful response to the surrounding landscape. We were commissioned to design and build custom wooden bathtubs for both the spa and the hotel’s luxurious tented accommodations—distinct designs, unified by material, craft and setting. Working closely with the project team, we translated their concepts into pieces that align seamlessly with the spirit of this extraordinary place.

The goal was achieved thanks to the design of the architect Maria Murawsky Architect. In the interiors appeared a lot of veneered panels in light gloss and numerous wooden ribbings. Those elements were made by ZAJC responsible for the reception desk, wall panels with integrated doors, kitchen and wardrobe.

We were responsible for the exterior tile flooring, staircases, tile arch, window surrounds, and bench. Very intricate flooring and building design by Jan Robert Hochhauser.

The division of space in the house is partially in response to site conditions, but also creatively serves the owner's needs to simultaneously separate and connect various functions of the spaces within.
