We turned one open space into two distinct spaces. The home owner opted to have the pianist face away from the room in order to allow for more seating. This Ranch Hacienda hillside estate boasts well over 13,000 square feet under roof. A loggia serves as the backbone for the design. Each space, both interior and exterior, has a direct response to the linear expression of outdoor space. The exterior materials and detailing are rustic and simple in nature. The mass and scale create drama and correspond to the vast desert skyline and adjacent majestic McDowell mountain views. Features of the house include a motor court with dual garages, a separate guest quarters, and a walk-in cooler. Silverleaf is known for its embodiment of traditional architectural styles, and this house expresses the essence of a hacienda with its communal courtyard spaces and quiet luxury. This was the first project of many designed by Architect C.P. Drewett for construction in Silverleaf, located in north Scottsdale, AZ. Project Details: Architecture | C.P. The kitchen was a full remodel which incorporated all new high-end appliances like a 48” Sub Zero refrigerator and Thermador cooktop and ovens. Bead board was added to the ceiling and a heavy crown molding adds detail to the transitional kitchen. The cabinets are painted Swiss coffee by Benjamin Moore, which contrast against the brown granite and creamy subway tile backsplash. A custom mosaic is the centerpiece of the kitchen, adding an organic element. The refrigerator and dishwasher are paneled to help conceal the appliances. A wine fridge was incorporated into the peninsula. Pendants add extra light to peninsula where there is bar stools for extra seating. Photography by: Erika Bierman

Built in 1907 and nestled into the beating heart of San Fran’s Bernal Heights neighbourhood, this adorable abode was an unpolished gem ready to be turned into our clients’ dream home. Our mission was to gift Bonview with classic, natural and timeless style while setting it up with impressive functionality so that it was ready to be the pet-friendly, kid-friendly and entertaining-friendly home they needed it to be. Mission accepted! Our clients’ vision was clear: They wanted whites, blacks and wood tones with texture and personality. Oh, and that spunky wine fridge? Yep, that was a non-negotiable. ? “It’s not unusual for our friends and family to drop past unannounced any day of the week. And we love it!” They told us during our initial Design Therapy Sesh. We knew immediately what she meant - we have an open-door policy with our families, too! Which was why we consciously created living spaces that were open, inviting and welcoming. Now, the only problem our clients would have would be convincing their guests to leave! Our clients also enjoyed cooking and baking casually, so we created an organized, intuitive and functional kitchen and pantry that made whipping up homemade dips and snacks for their game nights a breeze.
