Our clients had a very clear vision for what they wanted in a new home and hired our team to help them bring that dream to life. Their goal was to create a contemporary oasis. The main level consists of a courtyard, spa, master suite, kitchen, dining room, living areas, wet bar, large mudroom with ample coat storage, a small outdoor pool off the spa as well as a focal point entry and views of the lake. The second level has four bedrooms, two of which are suites, a third bathroom, a library/common area, outdoor deck and views of the lake, indoor courtyard and live roof. The home also boasts a lower level complete with a movie theater, bathroom, ping-pong/pool area, and home gym. The interior and exterior of the home utilizes clean lines and warm materials. Subtle curves soften the edges and a mix of materials help to reduce the scale and add interest to the exterior. The Porte Cochere provides access to the pool area as well as an entire wall of storage closets for the trappings of summer. A Seattle couple needed to take advantage of our amazing summer weather and asked for a way to watch movies outside. We were up to the challenge, designing a custom concrete bench that by day serves as built-in seating and transforms at night into a perfect spot to catch a flick on the fly! This stunning Puerto Rican beach home was in the process of adding an elegant carport to its grounds, ensuring that this homeowner's expanding collection of cars would have a luxurious space. To guarantee it adequately met both the client and architect's exacting standards for design, installation company SHO-Pros - Azenco Outdoor dealer in Puerto Rico - with their experience crafting luxury carports were brought on board. The result: An exquisitely crafted two-zone solid roofed carport structure providing shade from sun and rain - fit precisely to encase two cars and golf cart accessories needed around resort areas! This luxury carport was designed to enhance the sophisticated vibe of this Caribbean community. The modern architecture boasted all white exteriors, along with floor-to-ceiling windows that provided breathtaking vistas from every room. To complement its elegance, SHO-Pros opted for an Azenco R-Car fixed roof car port - a sleek structure without any visible assembly hardware whose insulation would protect against sun and rain alike while keeping residents comfortable as they access their vehicles in style!

The client needed to correct drainage issues in their front yard and also improve the overgrown side yard. The design opportunity became incorporating a dry creekbed from the point of roof run-off, through the side yard and out beyond the backyard. A meandering stepper path of rounded river jacks crisscrosses the creekbed. Large glacial slabs act as footbridges where path and creekbed intersect. Bamboo screens follow the path nestled amidst shady plantings. Back at the front entry, decorative posts were replaced with a heftier design incorporating new light fixtures. Overall, pragmatically-solving drainage issues also brought a new landscape experience to the property.

This client wanted to experience Santa Fe in Sierra Madre. Challenges were the steep hillside lot, great views, fire concerns and narrow car access. We created a rustic home with a low profile, lush surroundings and an air of quiet tranquility. This rustic southwestern house uses reclaimed vegas and logs for the structural system and asphalt emulsion mud adobe walls for the finish. Outdoor space for family and entertaining with custom-made trellis to meet the clients vision. The rustic wall blocks adjacent residential street to create a more private experience. Steel trellis posts wrap to the backside of the wall to create a "staple" effect with rustic timber beams resting on top. This project mixed contemporary with the traditional Sun Valley rustic vibe. Small details include the patio surfacing from the lawn and the staple trellis to appear as if it is just resting atop the patio.

The Shoshone residence is envisioned as a monumental limestone volume that will house an eclectic collection of art and sculpture. The project examines unique lighting conditions throughout the day by utilizing a series of curved light scoops to direct and filter the illumination. These light scoops vary in size and shape in order to materialize a distinct set of experiences throughout the residence. The project rises three stories connecting the ground level neighboring community gardens to the city-wide panorama from the roof deck above. The vertical circulation linking these moments is contained within the largest light scoop monitor.
