This project is especially unique! This homeowner just bought a home in So Cal and were moving from Nor Cal very shortly. They had an issue that needed solving. Not only did they need a Koi pond built for their new home in So Cal, but needed some help transporting their beloved family Koi fish too! After working with us on landscape projects at their home and business, these homeowners turned their attention to their lake retreat. A flagstone patio adds cozy entertaining space near the house, while natural stone steps and mown paths add safe access up and down the hillside to the beach. Native plants form the backbone of the landscaping, with planting pockets for colorful annuals arranged throughout.

This container composition uses the homeowners pots, with a vintage metal bucket as the focal point, to add interest and charm to her eclectic courtyard. For this warm-weather planting, coleus, helichrysum, Pedilanthus lady's slipper, and parrot's beak complement each other perfectly in color and texture.

This pond is just part of a large backyard project envisioned by the homeowner. He wanted to dedicate the backyard, 3+ acres, to the memory of his deceased wife after her battle with cancer. The 25'x30' pond with a soothing 75' meandering stream was installed in the spring of 2013.
