The dining room and common area at STAR (Safe Treatment for Addiction Recovery) in beautiful Green Mountain Falls, CO,. An oasis and refuge for those suffering with substance abuse issues. Complete remodel including flooring, countertops, lighting, hard window treatments, pain palette including exterior, and all furniture and accessories. A labor of love and I was grateful to have the opportunity to design a serene and tranquil environment conducive to recovery, peace and well-being.

During our beginning stages for a standard chimney repair, we came across a bigger issue. We found poor roof flashing conducted by a roofer. Screws were used to secure roofing and flashing down around the chimney, this has damaged the home. This roof flashing system collected an excess of water and has caused dry rot down the chimney and wall next to the chimney. The chimney exterior wall needed to be cut out and replaced with new siding in all directions and replaced. We then installed new step flashing, and cricket to divert water and debris. Now, this chimney and roof, and siding are secure, safe, and will last for many more years.

This project is especially unique! This homeowner just bought a home in So Cal and were moving from Nor Cal very shortly. They had an issue that needed solving. Not only did they need a Koi pond built for their new home in So Cal, but needed some help transporting their beloved family Koi fish too! We took this challenge on by building them an oasis both their Koi and their family will enjoy, but also driving up ourselves and ensuring their Koi made it here safe and sound.

Above and Beyond is the third residence in a four-home collection in Paradise Valley, Arizona. Originally the site of the abandoned Kachina Elementary School, the infill community, appropriately named Kachina Estates, embraces the remarkable views of Camelback Mountain. Nestled into an acre sized pie shaped cul-de-sac lot, the lot geometry and front facing view orientation created a remarkable privacy challenge and influenced the forward facing facade and massing. An iconic, stone-clad massing wall element rests within an oversized south-facing fenestration, creating separation and privacy while affording views “above and beyond.” Above and Beyond has Mid-Century DNA married with a larger sense of mass and scale. The pool pavilion bridges from the main residence to a guest casita which visually completes the need for protection and privacy from street and solar exposure. The pie-shaped lot which tapered to the south created a challenge to harvest south light. This was one of the largest spatial organization influencers for the design. The design undulates to embrace south sun and organically creates remarkable outdoor living spaces. This modernist home has a palate of granite and limestone wall cladding, plaster, and a painted metal fascia. The wall cladding seamlessly enters and exits the architecture affording interior and exterior continuity. Kachina Estates was named an Award of Merit winner at the 2019 Gold Nugget Awards in the category of Best Residential Detached Collection of the Year. The annual awards ceremony was held at the Pacific Coast Builders Conference in San Francisco, CA in May 2019. See that gross, stinky puddle of water? That has been constantly seeping into this home owner’s drinking water ever since they had their irrigation system installed years ago. We discovered this issue during a backflow test, and were able to bring it up to code immediately. This project highlights a complete garage door opener repair in Roselle, IL. The homeowner experienced intermittent operation, sensor issues, and a weak motor response. Our team diagnosed the problem, repaired the opener, recalibrated the sensors, and programmed a new remote. The final result is a smooth, reliable, and safe garage door system with improved daily convenience.
