Surrounded by vineyards in the Carneros Valley, the house mimics the warehouse aesthetic of wine sheds scattered throughout the surrounding hills of Napa Valley. The interior’s industrial open spaces serve as a cavernous blank canvas for the homeowner’s collection of large-scale modern artwork. The house is inwardly focused, directing attention towards the art. Carefully placed windows frame curated views to the surrounding valley.

This house design was inspired by the 19th century style farm houses that are scattered about the flat open farmland of Eastern Shore, Virginia. The building site for this project was on a waterfront peninsula that made it picturesque as well as historical version of a bygone era. We added our "Special" touch with butterflies and and ladybugs scattered along the table tops. Our floor arrangements brightened the room with a mix of calla lilies, tulips, gladiolus, pussy willow, and fairly lights.
