Ruthie and her husband were born overseas and traveled the world together. Their home is an expression of the things that they love and have collected over the years. With touches of Africa and a definite global flair throughout the home, their home is eclectic, relaxed and certainly collected. They realize that not everyone loves this style, but home is suppose to be what YOU love. Ruthie loves a mix of styles and is comfortable with some rooms being more eclectic and others more traditional. Her home is her palette to express her design aesthetic and experiment with things she loves.

The media room is one of the client’s favorite spaces. What was once a plain, living space is now a comfortable, vibrant environment for where the homeowners can relax. It features an orange-and-white trellis wallpaper, a flame stitch rug (chosen by the husband), and an abstract painting of a bicycle that nods to the homeowners’ love of cycling.

This home gym has everything you'd ever need for a complete workout. And when you're finished exercising, hit the court for a game of hoops. This SwimEx 1000 S swim spa pool is an above ground pool. The owners added metal skirting and a deck around the pool to house their exercise equipment. The beauty of SwimEx pool construction is that these swim spas are self-supporting. All you need is a level slab and you're good to go. Notice the different workout zones in this particular pool. There's a deep well for non-weight bearing exercises, a 99-speed water current on one side of the pool and an integrated treadmill. These smart owners know the benefits of running in the water. Inspired by the vivid tones of the surrounding waterways, we created a calming sanctuary. The grand open concept required us to define areas for sitting, dining and entertaining that were cohesive in overall design. The thread of the teal color weaves from room to room as a constant reminder of the beauty surrounding the home. Lush textures make each room a tactile experience as well as a visual pleasure. Our clients wanted to increase the size of the paved area so they could use it more frequently for relaxing and dining in the sun during the day. The existing site was a mixture of brick paving, which was slippery underfoot, and tired concrete crazy paving. Redesigned and repaved area We first created a new, larger layout with a series of wider steps closer to the house, making a more inviting and welcoming area. Our landscapers paved the area with coursed sandstone, renowned for its incredible strength and durability. The earthy tones and unique texture of the sandstone gives it a natural timeless look which blends sympathetically with the garden setting. The worn finish of the paving also makes the surface safer to walk on. The edge of the paving curves in line from the end of the house to visually link the areas. Bullnosed edges enhance looks and safety Bullnosing provides the garden step edges with a smooth, luxury appearance, which also enhance safety. Safety is an important factor to consider when renovating or building new steps and paved areas. Smooth, rounded bullnosed steps or edges means there won’t be any harshly cut, sharp edges to injure someone should they trip or fall.
