Absolutely stunning in detail, this home features a rustic interior with vaulted great room using reclaimed timber beams that provide immediate depth and character. The centerpiece of the retreat is an inviting fireplace with a custom designed locking screen that compliments the warm stone used throughout the interior and exterior. The showstopper is the dual Lowen bi-folding doors that bring the outside-in, while the phantom screens provide a barrier from the elements when needed. Our private estate has an expansive entertaining spaces with a one-of-a- kind built-in grill that connects to the main home while below, on the lower level, a beautiful pool and gazebo. Dramatic plant textures, modern hardscaping and sharp angles enhanced this mid-century modern bungalow. Soft plants were chosen to contrast with the sharp angles of the pathways and hard edges of the MCM home, while providing all-season interest. Horizontal privacy screens wrap the front porch and create intimate garden spaces – some visible only from the street and some visible only from inside the home. The front yard is relatively small in size, but full of colorful texture.

Looking for a nice clean crown molding, but what something different? These homeowners did just that with a simple clean flat molding applied to the wall and ceiling to create this look.

This unique project has heavy Asian influences due to the owner’s strong connection to Indonesia, along with a Mountain West flare creating a unique and rustic contemporary composition. This mountain contemporary residence is tucked into a mature ponderosa forest in the beautiful high desert of Flagstaff, Arizona. The site was instrumental on the development of our form and structure in early design. The 60 to 100 foot towering ponderosas on the site heavily impacted the location and form of the structure. The Asian influence combined with the vertical forms of the existing ponderosa forest led to the Flagstaff House trending towards a horizontal theme.
