A separate spa is closer to the home and mimics the clean lines of the pool. Two contemporary, vertical travertine sculptures form a fountain that serves as a focal point for the main entry into the backyard space.

I jokingly call this the 'Duck Garden'. The Japanese maple is the Mother Duck, with the little Thuja ducklings in tow. The rounded form of the maple inspired this planting. The Thujas are underplanted with Saxifraga 'Maroon Beauty' which will send up frothy waves of white blooms in spring.

This Cedar log was left on the side of the road to rot, we picked it up and using a chainsaw mill turned it into something useful.
