About Us

We specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodeling in the greater Cleveland, Ohio area, and our showroom is in Rocky River on Center Ridge Rd. We also remodel basements and attics, and we do a lot of custom tilework and carpentry--custom ceilings, wainscoting, shiplap, benches, closets, built-ins, etc. We are licensed, bonded, and insured, and we run our own electrical and plumbing divisions and pull all permits in-house. We can do basic architectural layouts or 3D renderings. Big Bear Remodeling is an employee-based company, and that makes all the difference in the world. We've ranked in the top 50 Remodelers in the United States, and we strive to hold our reputation as a top kitchen and bath contractor in Rocky River and Northeast Ohio.

I have to admit I wasn’t looking forward to a total kitchen renovation after a disappointing bathroom redo a few years back (with a different company). However, I was wrong. Big Bear was an absolute pleasure to work with. They excel at communications; we received a weekly update throughout the renovation process. We knew each day which of Big Bear’s team would be on site and what they would accomplish while here. All of the workers arrived on time (by 8am); they were pleasant, customer-focused, and did quality work. Kirk Hartung was awesome. He helped us with design ideas and was great at problem solving situations with our century home. If any problems arose, we were confident Big Bear would make it right…and they did. Our new kitchen is fantastic - done on time (if not ahead of schedule) and within budget. I highly recommend Bear Bear!

We are very pleased we chose Big Bear for our bathroom remodel. We had the opportunity to customize the design and are excited with the result. It is most important to note that we were guided along the way in our decision making towards staying within our budget. We were very comfortable having the employees in our home, whether we were present or not. Everyone was very helpful. Whatever we needed and whatever we requested, Big Bear provided it to us. Two examples stand out. One was that we had a pertinent plumbing issue unrelated to the bathroom (that we did not know about), and for a reasonable fee, they fixed it for us. Another is that we had a somewhat embarrassing moment misunderstanding an installed accessory, and after the project was complete, they came over to show us how to properly use it. Just excellent. Yes, there are remodeling companies that cost less, but if you want a stress free experience with maximum customer service, I recommend choosing Big Bear.

Remodeling can be a daunting undertaking. We researched many companies, but after meeting with Rob Young, owner of Big Bear Remodeling, our search was over. Rob explained every step of our kitchen remodel and was available for all our questions and concerns (and yes, there were many!). The electrical, plumbing, finishing, and cabinetry workmanship was superb. When we decided to update our bathroom, it was a no brainer!! Big Bear Remodeling is highly recommended.

We recently had our attic steps remodeled by Big Bear. They were very easy to work with. Their communication is top notch, from weekly schedules to easy to contact site managers it all helped to make sure we were on the same page throughout the process. Everyone on site was kind, communicative and kept my house in great shape during the process. Would highly recommend.

Big Bear remodeled my primary bathroom. At the initial visit the owner Rob sketched a great new plan for the space that no one else could match. The following layout meeting was at my home with the designer, plumbing foreman and Rob. Their knowledge and expertise reinforced my confidence that I had selected the best contractor. Through the planning phase and material selections Rob provided helpful guidance but never pressured. During the project the crew on site was skilled, courteous and dedicated to doing quality work. Communication with the project coordinator, office manager and Rob by text and email was excellent. The transformation of the finished bathroom is remarkable. It is completely revitalized. I highly recommend Big Bear. If I could, I would buy another house just to have Big Bear remodel it.
