From narrow gulley kitchen to open plan entertainers dream. By removing two walls, the way the space was used was completely transformed. A window had to be made smaller to allow for overhead cupboard storage, but the proportions work so. The space feels light and bright and inviting. The timber floor adds warmth and the walls are painted Resene Half Athens Grey with the ceiling, skirting, architraves and skirting in Resene White. All ties together perfectly. The kitchen is simple with extrusion handles to ensure horizontal lines that make the kitchen feel larger. The overhead cupboards are timber finish to add warmth and interest.

Hallway - industrial hallway idea in Toronto

The Tomar Court remodel was a whole home remodel focused on creating an open floor plan on the main level that is optimal for entertaining. By removing the walls separating the formal dining, formal living, kitchen and stair hallway, the main level was transformed into one spacious, open room. Throughout the main level, a custom white oak flooring was used. A three sided, double glass fireplace is the main feature in the new living room. The existing staircase was integrated into the kitchen island with a custom wall panel detail to match the kitchen cabinets. Off of the living room is the sun room with new floor to ceiling windows and all updated finishes. Tucked behind the sun room is a cozy hearth room. In the hearth room features a new gas fireplace insert, new stone, mitered edge limestone hearth, live edge black walnut mantle and a wood feature wall. Off of the kitchen, the mud room was refreshed with all new cabinetry, new tile floors, updated powder bath and a hidden pantry off of the kitchen. In the master suite, a new walk in closet was created and a feature wood wall for the bed headboard with floating shelves and bedside tables. In the master bath, a walk in tile shower , separate floating vanities and a free standing tub were added. In the lower level of the home, all flooring was added throughout and the lower level bath received all new cabinetry and a walk in tile shower. Flanking garages compliment a grand entrance and frame a roundabout style motor court. On axis, and centered on the homes roofline is a traditional A-frame dormer. The walkout rear elevation is covered by a paired column gallery that is connected to the main levels living, dining, and master bedroom. Inside, the foyer is centrally located, and flanked to the right by a grand staircase. To the left of the foyer is the homes private master suite featuring a roomy study, expansive dressing room, and bedroom. The dining room is surrounded on three sides by large windows and a pair of French doors open onto a separate outdoor grill space. The kitchen island, with seating for seven, is strategically placed on axis to the living room fireplace and the dining room table. Taking a trip down the grand staircase reveals the lower level living room, which serves as an entertainment space between the private bedrooms to the left and separate guest bedroom suite to the right. Rounding out this plans key features is the attached garage, which has its own separate staircase connecting it to the lower level as well as the bonus room above.

Natural Stone outdoor Living Area This Natural Stone Outdoor living Area features tons of amazing natural stone work throughout the project. The installation features a natural stone pool deck, broken flagstone paths, entrance patio at pool house, and natural stone waterfall at pool. Pool deck, patio, and paths are constructed using full color irregular PA flagstone. Joints in flagstone patio were filled with Unilock ‘EZPro’ joint material. Spaces between stones in path have lawn installed. An additional broken flagstone patio area in back of home was also installed. Pool Waterfall The Pool Waterfall is constructed using Semco ‘Weathered Limestone’ with stone outcroppings and boulders placed in areas surrounding waterfall and back side of pool for more natural appearance. Landscaping was installed around the backside of the waterfalls to further naturalize the apperance and disguise the pool equipment. Front Stone Walkway Flagstone walkways and steps were installed in multiple areas around the home. The Main entrance to the home features a long spaced flagstone walkway with natural stone natural stone steps and landing area. Two separate side entrance’s to the home are also complete with natural stone steps and landing areas. Landing and step risers were finished with matching stucco. Cobblestone Walkways and Driveway Accents Other paths around the house are bordered with gray Belgium block cobble stone, lined with 3/8″ decorative pebble, with stone base and separation material beneath. Two belgium block driveway bands as well as linear belgium block driveway curbing along the flower bed edges at the driveway were installed in the front of the home. Landscape Lighting Also included in this project is the installation of the low voltage LED landscape lighting system. The Coastal Source system with vintage brass finish included path lights, uplights, and niche lights. Landscaping Landscape beds, plants and trees, and pine needle mulch were installed through out the property. There was also a significant amount of regrading and seeding done. Water retention Basins Two large underground water retention basins were installed on separate sides of the the property. As a Custom Home Builder Gainesville Georgia. , we built this handsome stone and brick exterior two-story, three-car garage home on the lake. We installed hardwoods through out the living areas. This home features a personal office with a splendid outdoor view as well as a separate dining room with exposed beam ceiling. This beautiful kitchen was remodeled for a growing family in the Chicago suburbs. As they were purchasing a new home, they realized there were many drawbacks to the kitchen. It needed to be redesigned to meet their lifestyle and it made sense to do it before moving in. It was a large kitchen but the functional work space was very small. The work triangle was cumbersome and traffic flowed right through it. The existing kitchen had new red oak floors. They were beautiful, but dark red floors just aren’t practical for a growing family with dogs. THE REMODEL The first thing we did was redesign the space and reorient the layout with two islands. Incorporating a built-in banquette, instead of a table, freed up plenty of room for them. The islands are strategically placed in the opposite direction of the previous layout’s single island. This not only creates a better view from the family room, it keeps the traffic flow out of the work area while facilitating two separate workspaces. The small island incorporates a new prep sink. It’s right across from the cooking area, which is a new focal point with a gorgeous new metal hood. The larger island incorporates a Galley Workstation with accessories for efficient prep, expediting and serving. The 4′ sink makes post-meal clean-up a breeze. The butler’s pantry just outside the kitchen was large enough to create a new beverage center for morning coffee and cocktail prep. An ice maker was added to this area but there wasn’t enough room for a new wine cooler and refrigerator drawers. A separate area using previously unused space was added to the kitchen (by the table) – it includes a new wine cooler and cold beverage drawers. This is framed nicely with some glass door cabinets and a lighted open niche above for decorative display. STRATEGIC DESIGN A combination of colors and finishes highlight different focal points in the kitchen – this includes a slate blue, a soft grey and a light whitewashed stain on rift-cut oak. The stained white oak makes the wine cooler and refrigeration areas look more like furniture pieces instead of kitchen cabinets. The floors were refinished with a very light grey stain that enabled us to lighten up the color and get the red out of the finish. A new ceiling was designed to add architectural detail to the space – it includes three separate tray areas with new crown molding and lighting. THE RENEWED SPACE This stunning new kitchen is the perfect fit for the family and their home – the finishes and design elements flow beautifully into the adjoining spaces. It fulfills all of the family’s dreams for a beautiful and comfortable space that is functional and versatile.
