Depth and richness was achieved with dark espresso cabinetry and beautiful mocha and charcoal veined Ceasarstone quartz counters. Bright white subway tile paired with metallic and slate colored mosaic strips add personality, tying in the other metal accents in the home. We maintained the original cabinetry footprint to keep the existing tile floor. Although the space is compact, the galley kitchen offers plenty of storage with lower pull out drawers vs cabinet shelving, customized spice rack, a slender cookie sheet cabinet, and even a display shelf for the client's mug collection. A new stainless steel refrigerator was need immediately with the remaining appliances being upgraded in the next year.

Nursery - eclectic nursery idea in Houston

A waterjet cut patterned marble tile was the inspiration for the master bath finishes, and was used to create tile "floor runners' to define the vanity and tub area as well as the shower and dressing spaces. Custom cabinets with glass doors on either side of the tub provide an opportunity for display and storage.

Client had a few items from a family business that she wanted to display but didn't want in her living spaces. We opted to make the laundry room her tribute space. The wood crates were repurposed for laundry soap storage. The clients dog eats in the laundry room so his food is stored in and under the utility sink. There are two cloth hampers with two compartments each on either side of the room for whites, darks, gentle care, and towels/linens. We added to her storage by hanging wire shelves underneath the wire shelf and small items are stored there for easy access -- dryer sheets, dusting cloths, essential oils for wool dryer balls, stain remover, dog medicines and towels.

The before and after of this space is so satisfying. When you walked through the front door, the kitchen was closed off behind a wall that spanned the entire area. We removed that wall, and opened up the space to have a more inviting feel. Removing that wall meant we lessened the pantry and cupboard space, so we corrected that with an oversized island including seating, a peninsula with a beverage station, and a display cabinet utilized for stemware, to make up for that. Slab doors made with white oak and stained in a graphite color are the centerpiece of the area. Utilizing various colors of gold, including brushed gold, honey bronze, and champaign bronze we were able to compliment both the cabinets, and the stainless steel appliances A few great cabinet extras include an oversized spice roll out, a pantry roll out, a cookie sheet cabinet, and a functional blind corner pull out in the corner cabinet. Topping the cabinets is a beautiful quartz countertop that has the look and feel of marble. The appliances are all modern and sizable, with a 36” range and hood, a new convection speed oven, and a dual side by side 24” fridge, with a 18” freezer. The sink, made by Kohler, is an apron front single bowl style, with 2 faucets, a soap dispenser, and a push button garbage disposal switch built in. Outside of this amazing new kitchen, we also updated the entertainment center in the family room, with cabinetry to match the kitchen, and a Bardiglio marble surrounding, and we added a 72” aesthetic fireplace accent. The flooring throughout the space was updated using a “greige” commercially rated 16”x32” porcelain tile, then finished with an acrylic grout.

They wanted everything to be of lasting quality, but not feel too precious, so their grandchildren can still have fun running on the porcelain floors and baking on the quartz counters. The clients desired a cohesive space with the best materials, exhibiting a streamlined appeal that still felt welcoming and catered to all their storage needs. The surfaces are low maintenance for easy clean-up and sanitation. The clients wanted custom, solid-wood cabinetry with natural finishes, for an organic element and visual warmth. The design intent for this space was to create an open, serene Kitchen utilizing a functional layout, quality materials, and organic elements. The area is grounded by dark terrazzo-looking porcelain and uplifted by contrasting light fixtures. We wanted this room to be inviting through a variety of textures and layered lighting, as it is situated at the heart of the home. With custom cabinetry, the highest caliber appliances and thoughtful hardware, this Kitchen is sure to stand the test of time. Additionally, clients wanted to hide certain items in the kitchen, such as electronics, appliances, cookbooks, trash, and recycling. Storage for sheet trays, knifes, spices, cutlery and cooking utensils were required. Open display shelves for collectables from travels and an area for a coffee & smoothie bar were also desired. The island incorporates a hidden charging station for electronics, open shelving for cookbooks, while housing an instant hot and chilled water dispenser at the sink. The cabinetry also has a hidden trash and recycling center, specialty spice and cooking utensil pull-outs, drawers with custom inserts for knifes, cutting boards, cutlery, and tableware. An appliance garage allows room for the stand mixer and toaster to be out of sight, but within reach. A lighted coffee and smoothie bar were planned for the clients’ love of coffee and healthy nutrition. This long-time family home was ready for a thoughtful evolution. Originally built years ago, the homeowners came to us seeking a comprehensive renovation that better reflected how they live today — entertaining frequently, welcoming their grown children home for holidays and summers, and desiring spaces that feel elevated, functional, and deeply personal. What began as a kitchen and bath update ultimately became a whole-home transformation, touching every floor — from the main living level to the bedroom floor and even the attic. On the first floor, we completed a full gut renovation and thoughtful reconfiguration of the layout. Walls were removed — including a former pantry and powder room — to dramatically improve sightlines and flow between the kitchen and living room. The kitchen footprint was expanded to accommodate a generously sized island designed for gathering. A two-tone cabinetry palette establishes subtle zoning: Farrow & Ball Stiffkey Blue anchors the island and refrigerator surround, while White Tie brightens the perimeter cabinetry. Paneled appliances conceal the dishwasher and trash, while a stainless refrigerator adds balance and contrast. Antique brass hardware and oversized statement pendants layer in warmth and charm. Inside the cabinetry, custom storage solutions — from built-in spice racks and pull-out trays to a dedicated Tupperware drawer with lid dividers — ensure everything has its place. The former dining room was reimagined as a full-service butler’s pantry, complete with a second prep sink, paneled beverage drawers, an ice maker, glass display cabinetry, and abundant storage. Two built-in desks and a bench create a flexible zone for puzzles, homework, or casual seating. By relocating coffee and cocktail service to this dedicated space, the main kitchen remains uncluttered — even during large gatherings. The powder room was thoughtfully relocated to support the new layout and transformed into a jewel-box moment for guests. Schumacher’s Romantic Bosphorus mural wallpaper creates a hand-painted, immersive experience. A custom console vanity with a Carrara marble top and backsplash pairs beautifully with an antique brass wall-mounted faucet, layered with warm lighting and brass finishes for an unforgettable impression. Beyond the kitchen, we opened up the living room and installed a custom bi-fold door system that seamlessly connects the interior to the screened-in porch, enhancing indoor-outdoor living. A bespoke music room was also created on the main level, complete with integrated soundproofing and custom cabinetry designed to house instruments, sheet music, a piano, and a concealed sound system — allowing the family’s love of music to be fully supported without visual clutter. Throughout the home, existing hardwood floors were refinished, and new decorative lighting and upgraded recessed lighting were installed to elevate both ambiance and functionality. On the bedroom floor, every space received a refresh. Each bedroom was thoughtfully updated with custom wallpaper and wall coverings, while the shared bathroom was fully renovated to incorporate a highly functional laundry area. All of the 4x4s were removed and the roof was supported with double 7" LVL headers. The gable end wall was built with 8 ft high sheets of 3/4" plate glass to preserve the view. The glass came out of a demolition of a display at the Museum of Science in Boston.
