Everything HomeThe utility room was in between the LR and the kitchen, so we moved it in order to connect the two spaces. We put the utility room where the laundry room used to be and created a new laundry room off a new hallway that leads to the master bedroom. Custom Storage SolutionsHarley man cave garage make over by Custom Storage Solutions designed with PVC flooring in a decorative pattern silver, black and gray color. We used corrugated metal on the walls with black baseboard and trim. Our powder coated garage storage cabinets with doors and drawers installed with a countertop. Back wall was done in brick panelling to give the space an industrial feel. Many gas, oil, and neon sign added as well as a custom made Harley Davidson bar with stainless steel footrail and epoxy top. The wall mural is 12 foot wide with a Route 66 neon sign installed into the picture itself.

Donohoe Living LandscapesThe landscape design for this private residence brings together a diverse array of elements to create an ethereal, multi-sensory experience where sound, movement, colour and scent are simultaneously evoked. Shielded by a forty foot hedge, the site challenged us to create an exterior, yet interior, world where Asian and Western influences intersect. In honouring the traditions of Feng Shui, the retaining wall does not sit directly on the entrance. Meditation pathways lead to areas of retreat and socialization (including an outdoor fire, a restored pool and covered seating area). An ergonomic garden and potting station lined with fruit trees allows the client to grow her own plants and vegetables. A multi-leveled water feature is framed with lush camellias and peonies; the landscape is lined with evergreens and decorated with Chinese basalt and local granite. The multi-sensory design comes to life in the grove of Shirofugen cherry trees as it sheds its petals to the music of a custom Corten steel wind chime sculpture made by English artist David Harber. A weather station was placed on site for a month to determine the weight of the chimes—each one set to the pentatonic scale. This is a space where our clients can grow and evolve their lives with the seasons.

Situated on Santa Barbara’s upper east side, this Mediterranean Casita is neighbor to the lovely Santa Barbara Mission Rose Garden.
Originally constructed in 1925, and designed by noted Santa Barbara architect Mary Osborne Craig, this beautiful historic residence was delicately remodeled in 2009. The new additions match the quiet asymmetrical massing of the original layout, and all new details carefully replicate the unique craftsmanship of the 1920’s.
The final result is a modernized home that blends beautifully into the heart of Santa Barbara’s historic district.

BEVOLO GAS & ELECTRIC LIGHTSTENNESSEE RIVER HOUSE
A successful businessman sold his company, and as part of the deal, was required to move to Knoxville, Tennessee. Having long been used to lake living in his native Alabama, he and his wife wanted to find a spot that would allow them to continue their life long love of being close to the water. They located such a site on the Tennessee River in a place appropriately called “Lake Loudon”. The rolling pasture-like site had great water access and views, and few trees creating a wide open kind of scenery. They hoped to make a place for their grown children to return to them with their grandchildren. The design engages and embeds the house into the hillside to become part of the landscape rather than sit in the middle of the field. The house was rotated slightly away from a straight on view of the river to shield from western sun, in favor of the northern exposure which opened up longer views of the Tennessee River, also allowing for more liberal use of windows in the main living space.
