The home-office includes a built-in flat wall monitor to use for long distance conferences and a computer area seen at the right edge of the photo. Both the center table and the computer desk can be hydraulically lowered into the rectangular recess (horikotatsu) in the floor beneath them. When the table and desk are raised, these recesses provide leg room when sitting on the floor.

Take a fallen tree to the sawmill to be cut in two. Salvage a few more dead trees and you have a footbridge to cross the creek.

Rock waterfall and pond in the front entrance driveway to this home in Florida. This is a Japanese influenced garden. The rocks for the waterfall are black volcanic rock from the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California. The rock waterfalls were designed and installed by Waterfalls Fountains & Gardens Inc. And the planting design is by Akiko Iwata.

This is a Japanese-style room or "nihonma" built into a newly constructed home. It is enclosed by a combination system of shoji screen and glass sliding doors. The shoji screens can open both vertically and horizontally. The low table in the center can be stored in the recess below and covered with a tatami mat, giving the room multiple uses..

The light from South Arch side window is focused upon the North wall where there is a large granite fossil. A smaller version of these swimming creatures appears above.
